AWF PRO-WRESTLING EXPLOSION @ PENRITH PANTHERS, PENRITH, NSW FRI 11 APRIL, 2008
The Australian Wrestling Federation (AWF) comes to Panthers World of Entertainment, Penrith, NSW on Friday 11 April with a huge night of pro-wrestling excitement, featuring Australias top professional wrestlers and a special international guests from the USA. The AWF will deliver over 2 hours of action packed sports entertainment suitable for all ages in a huge card that will showcase a variety of different matches, fighting styles and characters to kick start the beginning of the school holidays. The awesome Panthers Evan Theatre will be the perfect setting to host this hi tech event, and AWF will utilize the venues great video walls and sound and lighting to make this a visually spectacular extravaganza. The marquee proceeding for the Pro-Wrestling Explosion event will see AWF Australasian Champion TNT, battle former ECW World Champion, direct from the USA, Raven. TNT is the current AWF Australasian Champion, reigning since January 7, 2007, having defeated Japans Cima. Since his title win TNT has racked up victories over other World Champions such as Billy Kidman, Steve Corino and X-Pac to keep his title. In October, 2007, Raven and TNT successfully tag teamed taking down the likes of the Platinum Players and The Bastard Brothers. Both are good friends, but when the title is on the line, it will no doubt become competitive, and surely become explosive. Raven will be possibly the biggest test to date for TNT, due to the experience advantage he holds over TNT. Raven is a former NWA and ECW World Champion, and is one of the most renowned independent wrestlers in the business. He uses a combination of psychology and hardcore wrestling to wear down opponents, and likes to deliver his Even Flow DDT to finish them off. Raven has 20 years experience wrestling, some 7 years advantage over TNT, and knows every dirty trick in the book. These very factors may play a part in deciding who will be the AWF Australasian Champion at the end of the bout. This match up promises to be one of the most anticipated in AWF history.
In addition, as part of the proceedings for the Pro-Wrestling Explosion event other exciting bouts will see the popular Surf Club defend the AWF Tag Team Titles against former Champions, The Platinum Players: JT Robinson & Kid Dynamite. Jay Law will defend his Young Lions Championship against The Detonation Crews Chris X. More tag team action will see Black Venum battle Blue Flames. In a heavyweights clash The Freakshows Massive Q will face The Detonation Crews Powerhouse Theo, plus Mark The Hammer Hilton will face Billy Flyswat in a battle of two of AWFs most popular singles wrestlers.
This is sure to be a great event packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australian Wrestling Federation for AWF Pro-Wrestling Explosion @ Penrith Panthers. We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as recent AWF events have been turn away sell outs. Tickets are on sale now at the club.

AWF has shows planned for every State in Australia for 2008. Upcoming AWF will host events in NSW, VIC and QLD, Australia and North Island, New Zealand in March and April. Please support these events, as recent cards have been high on action, but desperately need more people at the events. Bring a friend and spread the word!
- TNT remains AWF Australasian Champion successfully defending his Title against D-Hoya (NZ), Taku Iwasa (Japan) and Il Cognito (Freakshow) in recent title defences. In coming weeks TNT will defend his Championship against Raven (USA) in both Australia and New Zealand.
- Surf Club remain AWF Australasian Tag Team Champions after defeating Black Venum, Chris X & Billy Flyswat and The Platinum Players Kid Dynamite & JT Robinson at Feb/March events. Surf Club have future showdowns with Bluey Bonza and Mark Hilton, plus Detonation Crew Teams; Flyswat and Chris X, and TNT & Powerhouse Theo.
- Jay Law's Young Lion's Title reign is off to a strong start, downing JC Starr of New Zealand, and duping Chris Trance with Kid Dynamite in 3 way action on the recent NZ tour. Back on home soil Law downed Rob The Scientist, but went to a cowardly count out loss to Bluey Bonza at Blacktown on 2 March. AWF officials are organising a future no dq bout between Bonza and Law for the YLC to even the odds for Bluey, who seemingly had the match won at Australia's Cup. Law bounced back at Fairy Meadow and downed Max Comic. Future defences will see Law take on Victoria's Mike Burr and Carlo Canon.
