Anthony's Asylum

Greetings my fellow indy wrestling fans and welcome to "Anthony's Asylum," the only column which treats indy wrestling and wrestlers like A-list Hollywood actors!

Before I get in to this edition's topic, I just had to get something off my mind. This "something" will explain why I have been a little inactive these days with my column. 3 months ago some loser (I choose to label this person "loser" just to not give him free advertisement since he's desperately seeking it ) tried (Keyword: TRIED!) to con me into writing a bio for his pathetic, yet poorly structured website.

Me being the nice guy that I can sometimes be, worked around the clock trying to write a bio for a loser who's website has no sense of even being up in the first place. In case you readers out there are wondering what's this loser's motive, he's trying to basically con movie directors into thinking he's a model/actor looking for work when he has no experience nor meets even the minimum requirements for either professions. This loser is no more of an actor/model than we are!

To make a long story short, this loser gets a hold of a copy of the bio that I wrote for him and posts it on his site. I find out about it, and confront him, and he had the nerve to say that I agreed to do his bio for free and in return he would bring more bio work from people in the "industry," ( insert humongous "BORING"chant here [x) ) I have my foot more in the entertainment business than he does so that was obviously a lie gone terribly wrong!
To resolve this matter professionally, I gave him the 3 strikes "I'll take you to court" warning whereas you take down the work you stole from me, or risk legal confrontation. Yes, I was ready for this because I had irrefutable evidence such as an original copy which I would've utilized to my advantage. As a result, the loser had no choice but to submit (insert submission hold of your choice here [x) ) to my 1st warning, adding this lifetime loser to my trail of broken bodies.

The moral of this story: "It takes more time and energy to go around telling a spree of lies than it is to be upfront." (A quote that was originally said by my girlfriend). = ) I couldn't agree more!

AHHHHHH, now that I've cleared the air, let me discuss this week's topic: " NWA-TNA's pursuit of becoming an established national wrestling company"

OK, let's pretend I am the boss of a company and NWA-TNA is my employee sitting in my office waiting to be reviewed for its performance during the past 12 months. Each set of questions will be answered as either: Asset or Liability and why?

1) Last year, NWA-TNA was producing 2 hour-weekly ppv shows on Wednesday nights. On September 2004, they decided to no longer air the weekly ppv shows.

Asset, because this move prevented people that were illegally watching their shows from cutting into TNA's pay.

2) In June 2004, TNA decided to launch a second TV show, "Impact," which would air Friday afternoon at 3 PM. (4PM presently)

Liability, and the reason is simply due to the helpless time slot. With a timeslot like that, you might as well become a soap-opera the only audiences you're going to attract with that timeslot are unemployed housewives!

3) Reducing weekly ppv shows to once a month actual ppv events.

Asset all the way! This prevents the product from being overexposed and actually gives the fans sufficient time to miss and crave the product.

4) Provides quality eye-catching merchandise products such as T-shirts, to further advertise itself effectively.

Absolute Asset! TNA has one of the best merchandise apparel that I've seen in a while second to Japan of course. Believe me, I know I'm in that field.

5) Has produced new "stars" that carry the position accordingly.

Asset, producing stars the likes of AJ Styles and the entire X-Division, that certainly shows product differentiation.

6) Has improved production-wise and setting.

Asset all the way! With the use of their 6-sided ring, the invention of innovative moves are endless especially since the X-Division is their main draw.

Congratulations TNA, you have earned your well-deserved raise! Keep up the good work! (shaking TNA's hand)

That wraps up this edition of Anthony's Asylum till next time!
