1/22 - SWITCHBLADE CONSPIRACY vs. NECRO and HAVOC signed for JANUARY 30TH'S HIGH STAKES!

The war between Danny Havoc and the Switchblade Conspiracy's Sami Callihan is arguably one of the most intense and personal that CZW's black and yellow ring has ever hosted. The two rivals met in not just a CZW ring, but rings all over the country in attempts to end not just each other's careers, but also at times each other's lifes. At December's CAGE OF DEATH spectacular (available now at www.smartmarkvideo.com), Havoc and Callihan met under CZW's most violent of circumstances when they did battle inside one of the most vicious and unforgiving structures of all time. Despite Callihan's victory in the match in what is normally a concluding contest, it became immediately clear that the hate between these two competitors had not been finalized, but instead taken to yet another Ultraviolent extreme. At January 30th's CZW return to South Philly, the war will continue again, only this time under new rules as Danny Havoc teams with an unlikely partner... THE NECRO BUTCHER, to take on the Switchblade Conspiracy's Sami Callihan and Jon Moxley in a tag team affair.

At first glance, this matchup seems impossible. In a prior CZW era, Danny Havoc and the Necro Butcher were not always the best of friends. A relationship which included its own shares of bloody battles and personal influence at one time seemed destined for a lifetime of hatred. However, in this one instance, time appears to have healed all wounds. In the days leading up to Cage of Death, Danny Havoc was kidnapped by the Switchblade Conspiracy, tortured, taunted, and left for dead in an abandoned warehouse. His status for Cage of Death appeared grim at best, until he was freed by a man who's identity at the time was unknown. At Cage of Death, following an incredibly graphic and bloody brawl, Sami Callihan looked to capitalize on his victory by once again ending Danny Havoc's life. Reaching for this switchblade, Sami attempted to again finish off Havoc with a simple slit of the wrist. Unlike his first attempt, the switchblade would never make it to Havoc's prone wrist. Instead this time, the lights went out... and when they turned back on, the Necro Butcher stood in the ring, and delivered a year's worth of frustration to Sami Callihan's jaw to the roaring approval of the CZW fans. Necro then helped Havoc to his feet, and the two shared in an embrace that many thought would never occur.

An ensuing exclusive video on CZWrestling.com confirmed what many had always hoped would happen. The Necro Butcher and Danny Havoc were back on the same side, and better yet, they would team up to fight a common enemy. On January 30th, the Necro Butcher will go to battle for the first in a CZW ring in over a year when he teams with Danny Havoc to face the Switchblade Conspiracy in the next stage of a bitter war. In addition, CZWrestling.com has learned that Maven Bentley will have an update on this match, including the announcement of some possible stipulations on this Sunday's new episode of CZW WIRED on HybridEnt.TV. CZW fans have waited for this day for seemingly forever, and on January 30th at High Stakes, it will finally happen as Necro returns home to the Combat Zone!

In addition, CZWrestling.com has learned that Troy Walters has pulled out of his upcoming CZW debut. Citing doubts that he is "ready to compete in the Combat Zone", Walters has cancelled his planned appearance at High Stakes. CZW officials would like to apologize to those fans who were hoping to see Walters compete. For more breaking news, stay tuned to CZWrestling.com.

1/18 - JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH SIGNED FOR HIGH STAKES!

By Jake Black for CZWrestling.com:

Greg Excellent finally achieved his dream at Cage of Death XI this past December. He was finally the CZW Junior Heavyweight Champion. It’s a journey that Excellent had dedicated himself too for all of 2009 and one he can be proud of.

Now that Excellent is CZW Junior Heavyweight Champion he has the long road ahead. Defending a championship can take a toll in a competitor’s body, mind and spirit. Excellent goes from the position of challenger to champion, hunter to hunted. It’s going to be a an adjustment phase for Excellent, but he doesn’t have long to adjust.

On January 30th at the Arena when CZW presents “High Stakes: The Sky’s The Limit”, Greg Excellent defends the CZW Junior Heavyweight Championship against the man he defeated for that gold, Drew Blood. Blood shares the same desire for the Junior Heavyweight Championship as Excellent. Blood spent most of 2009 chasing and defending the championship only to have it taken from him by Excellent.

Both Excellent and Blood want to prove they are the superior on January 30th at the Arena in South Philly, but only one of these men can walk out of the match as champion. Will it be the former champion Drew Blood or reigning champion Greg Excellent?

1/13 - CHAINSAW vs. LARIAT added to January 30th's HIGH STAKES!

From The Desk Of Maven T. Bentley, Esq.

Some people never learn.

CZW fans, I have a difficult job. I have to work with the multiple state and local authorities to ensure that CZW shows are permitted to happen. I have to keep a locker room of multiple personalities and egos at bay. I do everything within my power to ensue my job goes as smoothly as possible. I have done so in any venture. I thought this was “common sense”. Maybe I am wrong.

“Chainsaw” Joe Gacy seems not to want to do things the “easy” way. It seems he never learns. He attacked Brain Damage at Tournament of Death 8 and had a power saw taken to his skull. He attacked Danny Havoc in the middle of a match to further his position in the Switchblade Conspiracy. This led to him almost bleeding to death after the “Deck the Walls” deathmatch at Night of Infamy. Danny literally beat Joe within an inch of his life and the Switchblade Conspiracy was no where to be found.

I would think this would have been to teach Joe not to interfere in the business of angry deathmatch wrestlers…. I was wrong. At Cage of Death XI, Joe Gacy attempted to help Sami’s hired guns by attacking DJ during his match with Nate Hatred. Apparently Joe likes to do things the hard way. DJ Hyde has demanded a match with “Chainsaw”. DJ is not happy that a young man who he helped train and bring into this business has forsaken him and joined up with the likes of the Switchblade Conspiracy. Joe, I offer you fair warning, DJ is taking this personally. Ask Nate Hatred what happens when DJ takes something personally. Ask Danny Havoc what happens when DJ takes something personally. Ask whoever you must, but ask now, because after High StakeS 4, your jaw may be wired shut.

1/13 - KINGSTON vs. GAGE added to January 30th's CZW return!

By Derek Sabato for CZWrestling.com:

The similarities between Eddie Kingston and Nick Gage are plenty. Both men have undergone numerous things in their lives to shape the way they act in and out of a professional wrestling ring. Both men have undergone numerous things in professional wrestling to shape the way they act in general. Nick Gage almost died at Tournament of Death in Delaware. Eddie Kingston almost saw his life move into a tailspin because of a broken ankle suffered at Cage of Death. Both men have disappeared from the business and come back with a vengeance. Both men are also on the other side of a coin they’re not used to.

Nick Gage is a decorated veteran in CZW. He’s held every title but the Junior Heavyweight. Eddie Kingston has been where Nick Gage has been and back in professional wrestling. He’s defended the CZW World Title at a Cage of Death. He’s been inside a Cage of Death. He’s been on the other side of the ring of John Zandig at a Tournament of Death. Both men have common enemies in people they’re tied to in professional wrestling.

Losing is not an option to these men. But as of late the likes of Thumbtack Jack, Jon Moxley, Masada & Sami Callihan have put these two men two shoulder’s on the mat. It seems these two men have decided to get off a losing streak is to pick on men they know have lost lately. So it’ll all come down to High Stakes. Who ends their losing streak and gets back on track towards the CZW World Heavyweight Title? Who will continue and move more into a downward spiral on the CZW contender’s list? Be at the Arena on January 30th to find out.

1/5 - JC BAILEY returns to the ring on January 30th at HIGH STAKES!

Many people who come out of jail after a lengthy stay emerge with their head held high, a refreshing view of the world and a hopeful outlook on their future. That first step into freedom presents many with the opportunity to right the wrongs, catch up with family and friends, and a chance to rebuild a life temporarily interrupted by poor decisions and steel bars. For JC Bailey though, his most recent extended stay and release from a Kentucky penententiary served a markedly different purpose. When the longtime fan favorite reappeared in the Combat Zone in shocking fashion at December's Cage of Death event (available now at SmartMarkVideo.com), it didn't take long to see that Bailey wasn't interested in reconnecting with old friends.

In the moments immediately following the conclusion of the brutal NRBW match between Nick Gage and Thumbtack Jack that opened Cage of Death, CZW fans were on their feet in appreciation and awe of the spectacle they had just witnessed. Few were expecting what they saw next, the appearance of J.C. Bailey and new "friend" Billy Gram... and even fewer expected the ensuing beatdown of the triumphant fan-favorite, Thumbtack Jack. To the mixed response of the CZW fans, Bailey announced that he was back in the Combat Zone, and his arrival was due in large part to his friends in Cult Fiction.

Over at CZWrestling.com, there are a number of exclusive videos from the CZW roster in the aftermath of Cage of Death. Among the videos is a revealing dialogue from Bailey and his new supporter Billy Gram, and another which features a conversation (and subsequent beatdown) between Bailey and Naptown Dragons star xOMGx, in which the returning star explained his controversial motivations for his behavior. In a disturbing glimpse of the prison life, Bailey detailed the lonely reality that is life behind bars, isolated from friends and family. The troubled star recounted his frustrations at being "forgotten" by those who "used to be" his friends. Bailey claims that those friends who were once his closest outside of jail became just a memory, and dissapeared the second he went behind bars, and out of their lives. With Billy Gram disturbingly present at his side, JC painted a bitter picture of a man who lost sense of reality, and let his time behind bars get the best of him. In the second video, one of his "former" friends, Naptown Dragon xOMGx reached out to Bailey, and promised his and all the rest of the locker room's support in getting his life back together. The once upbeat Bailey rejected xOMGx's offer, and instead delivered a beating on the masked luchadore that showed the new, and perhaps true colors of the once bright young competitor.

On January 30th, J.C. Bailey will make his offical return to CZW action when he meets a fired-up and revenge seeking xOMGx in a bitter contest at "High Stakes". What will Bailey look like in his return to full-time combat? Will the veteran deathmatch specialist be able to bounce back from his extended layoff and take out his pent up frustration and anger on the Naptown Dragon's own xOMGx? Can the masked Dragon beat some sense into the newest member of Cult Fiction and remind him what competition in the Combat Zone is all about? We will find out on January 30th when CZW returns to South Philly.

1/4 - "Sky's the Limit" LADDER MATCH signed for HIGH STAKES!

In recent months, the personal rivalry between Robbie Mireno's CZW Tag Team Champions 'The Best Around' (TJ Cannon and Bruce Maxwell), and the BLKOUT (Ruckus and Sabian) has grown more and more serious. The feud which began with Mireno's betrayal of his long time label/stable and reached a boiling point with a title match at last month's Cage of Death will be taken to the next level on January 30th when the teams meet under the highest of stakes in the first ever "Sky's the Limit" Ladder Match!

Right now at CZWrestling.com, there are a number of exclusive new videos from the CZW roster, including one from Mireno and TBA, and one from Sabian with Maven Bentley. In the videos, Mireno and his champions addressed the BLKOUT's obvious desire for a tag-title rematch in January, and even accepted... if... the BLKOUT was willing to meet a few specific stipulations. Those stipulations, as explained to "The Black Jesus" Sabian, included putting the BLKOUT's very persona in the line if they hope to exact revenge on The Best Around. As explained by Bentley, the stipulations for 'High Stakes' are as follows. If BLKOUT wins: they win the CZW World Tag Team Championships. If TBA wins: Robbie Mireno gets full rights to the "BLKOUT" name, logos, and all associated copyrights and trademarks.

For these two teams, the stakes couldn't possibly be any higher. On January 30th, considering the competitors involved, they will compete under the only appropriate rules in the most appropriate match as they meet in CZW's first ever "Sky's the Limit" Ladder Match

12/27 - B-BOY and DRAKE YOUNGER meet AGAIN for the Gold on JANUARY 30TH at HIGH STAKES!

In a year full of unbelievable ultraviolence, groundbreaking aerial displays, and breakout performers, one match stood above all else to many. In the main event of October's Severed Ties event (available now at www.smartmarkvideo.com) Drake Younger defended the CZW World Title against B-BOY in an incredible back-and-forth affair that had both the CZW fans, and locker room on their feet in appreciation and awe of what undoubtedly became one of the most important matches in CZW history. When CZW returns to action in South Philly on January 30th, these two legends will once again lock it up in a highly requested rematch for the most prestigious championship the Combat Zone has to offer.

The anticipation for the first contest between Younger and B-Boy was great, but nobody could've expected the jaw-dropping action the two stars delivered. As the match went on, two things became very apparent. First, B-Boy was absolutely determined to do whatever it took to achieve his dream of holding the CZW Championship, and two... Drake Younger was perhaps even more determined, at least on that day, to make sure B-Boy would not accomplish his goal at his expense. Since then, B-Boy's desire to reach the Combat Zone plataeu has not weened. While has he been busy with other battles, a shot at the Championship has still been at the forefront of his mind. At Severed Ties, B-Boy was right there... he could taste victory, and was within seconds away from realizing his dream. While it wasn't meant to be on that day, you can bet that B-Boy learned from that experience, and will remember that taste when he faces Drake Younger one more time at January 30th's High Stakes. Can he reach the dream? Can he do the impossible? We will find out.

Having held the CZW Championship for well over a year, Drake Younger has become the face of CZW. It's an honor that is desired by many, but only truly realized by a handful of men who have ever stepped foot in the black and yellow ring. Drake Younger has worn the gold with great pride, and has made it clear that keeping the strap is his #1 priority. He's never been the most skilled performer, the most dangerous, or the most cunning competitor, but he possesses without a doubt the most heart of any performer that has perhaps ever graced a South Philadelphia ring. On January 30th tho, Drake Younger will once again have to be on the very top of his game if he hopes to survive a second run-in with the New Age Punisher. Beating B-Boy once is a major accomplishment, beating him twice is nearly impossible. On January 30th, something has to give, and it will all be on the line as the two meet under the highest of stakes at HIGH STAKES!

Let's take a look at the lineup so far for "High Stakes":

THE BEST AROUND (TJ Cannon and Bruce Maxwell) vs. BLKOUT (Ruckus and Sabian)
