1. What made you decide to become a professional wrestler?
There are a couple of reasons that made me decide to become a professional
wrestler. To begin with, I was always a fan of wrestling since I was young.
I would watch it on TV or my mother would sometimes get me tickets for
the WWE when they came into Madison Square Garden. Yet the one memory
that sticks out for me the most is the time I went to my first Indy wrestling
event. Until then I had no idea that Indy wrestling even existed and the
only reason I went was because a co-worker's roommate was working that
night at an NWA Jersey show in Hazlet, NJ. Although I had an immense interest
for wrestling, I always shied away from the thought of further pursuing
it due to my size and passion for baseball. It wasn't until the end of
the show when I had seen the size of some of the workers such as Sabu
and Chris Candido. They were about the same size as me and portrayed such
strong athleticism that I was enticed to try it. Coincidentally, a guy
named Kevin Knight was sitting next to me. I had recognized him from a
local newspaper article and began a conversation. He mentioned that he
was the head trainer at Camp IWF, a school he recently opened up in West
Paterson, NJ. He invited me to come down and check the school out and
I was hooked after a few weeks of workout sessions. I spent my days training
there from opening to closing hours. Unfortunately, due to opposing opinions
with the IWF, I later chose to leave and continue to pursue my career
elsewhere.
2. What promotions have you/do you work for?
I've had the opportunity to work for various promotions across the North
and Southeast United States. Companies such as 3PW, PWF, WXW, IWA, WPW,
WWWA, WSW in Pennsylvania. PCW, SSCW, IHPW, NWA Jersey, NWS, CSWF, IWF,
SWF, GWF, ACWA, ECPW in New Jersey. NWA Wildside in Georgia, MEW and ACW
in Maine. WWA in Massachussettes, XIW in Virginia, DCW in Delaware and
upcoming matches with NWA-TNA in Tennessee as well.
3. Of all the promotions you have worked for, which have been your
favorites? Why? Any least favorites?
I don't really have a favorite because I enjoy working for every company.
I like each company's style of using different workers with unique styles
and characters for different types of crowds. For example, 3PW is an awesome
place to work as is WXW and NWA-Wildside, yet they each have different
workers in different atmospheres. This allows for the shows to be changed
up because there are various workers with their own unique styles working
a variety of crowds that react in different ways. My least favorite is
the IWF in New Jersey. There are many reasons I chose to no longer work
or associate with them causing them to be my least favorite.
4. What wrestlers do you enjoy watching?
Unless I have to leave a show early, I watch everyone's match. I really
enjoy watching guys like Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero from the WWE as
well as Independent workers such as Hit Squad, Homicide, Reckless Youth,
Joey Matthews and Christopher Daniels. Also, I enjoy watching two of my
best friends in the business-Rob Eckos and Josh Daniels.
5. What has been your most embarrassing moment in the business?
I was shopping once and I accidentally signed my credit card receipt with
my gimmick name instead of my real name. This basically held up the line
and created quite a delay for everyone else!
6. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I play in different baseball leagues and try to catch Yankee games whenever
possible. I also enjoy clubbing, working out and spending time with my
friends too.
7. What is the best and worst thing about being a pro wrestler?
There are so many wonderful things about being a pro wrestler... One of
the biggest things is performing in front of crowds and making them feel
different emotions by using your character and skills to "tell"
a story in the process. Meeting new people who love the same thing as
you and working together to entertain a live audience is another benefit
of being in the business. The worst part is probably the strain on your
body, the strict diet and the time it consumes from your personal life.
8. What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
I've actually had a few memorable moments that have made me feel great
in my career. Just being in the ring as much as possible is a personal
thrill for me every time.
9. What do you think of the current state of professional wrestling
and the Indy scene in particular?
Unlike other sports where stats and numbers determine your progression,
getting there in wrestling can be as fateful as being in the right place
at the right time. Wrestling is limited with very little space and spots
open because there is only one major federation to go to, the WWE. Unfortunately
there is a lot of good talent out there right now in the Indy circuit
but not so many places for them to excel to. Personally, I don't approve
of this fact but this only shows that wrestling has its ups and downs
just like everything else.
10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Happy and healthy in whatever I'm doing!
