It saddens me to see that the wrestling business is no different overseas
than it is hear. Full of scum and promoters who just want to pass the
blame. Peter, I'm behind you 100%! - Brett
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh boy. Where to start?
The thing about not having as much time to write a column as before, is
that when you do sit down and get to write, you have too much to write
about! So I'm just going to touch on various subjects fleetingly, so that
I can get it all off my chest.
Firstly, 1PW. We've had a lot of support, good wishes, wrestlers on both
sides of the big pond who want to work for us - everything you can imagine.
We've even had one or two detractors, and trouble stirrers. Imagine that,
people who love to cause trouble...in professional wrestling? Surely not?!
I want to thank everyone who's been on our side so far for their help
and being there for us, it's not going unnoticed - we know who our friends
are! Cheap plug, visit our website at www.1p-w.com for all the news on
the show on October 1st at Doncaster Dome, Doncaster, UK!
Off to CZW, now. CZW are, at time of writing it's this weekend (July 16),
doing a fundraising show for my fiancee' Chrissie and the breast cancer
charity she's going to do a walk for in September in London, UK. The help
and time put in by particularly Maven Bentley, and Bob Magee of PWBTS.com
has been just wonderful, and I want to just thank them aloud on here for
all their kindness. Also a big thank you to all the boys who are scheduled
up to wrestle on the show, including some very good friends of mine.
Over to 3PW, from here. Mike and Meanie are doing a good job trying to
get the company back on track after various issues and problems the last
few weeks and months, and I just want to wish them the best of luck with
it all. Philly has a thriving, if possibly not a little bit TOO lively
scene right now, and 3PW are an integral part of it all. So here's hoping
they make a good comeback later on this year!
TNA? You do have to wonder how much longer they can go without television.
I hope they get something sorted soon, and continue on the path they have
been, and continue onwards and upwards. The indy's are at a good point
right now, and there's a lot going on. Quite possibly, it's fair to say
there's something for everybody out there at the moment, and that's a
good thing.
The recent bombing of London, just 35 miles away from me, has been quite
an issue here too. Once again, a thank you to ALL who emailed, or contacted
me on AOL Instant Messenger that day to make sure myself, Chrissie, and
the kids were okay. I won't ever forget how much love was shown to us,
and how many people in the business weren't willing to rest till they
knew we were safe. It means a hell of a lot to us.
WWE? Have I got anything at all to say there? Not really. It's good they're
looking to the indy's for workers now, it seems they've finally worked
it out a little. And then they throw it away, by letting go people like
the Dudley's, Shannon Moore, Jim Cornette, and more. One step forward,
and four steps back. God only knows what's going on in and around Titan
Towers these days, something's sure up there, and it's just getting stranger
by the day.
Whilst they're looking to the indy's for talent though, I have a few talent
suggestions of some friends of mine, that they could do well to at least
consider - Kris Krude (far more entertaining than Viscera), Adam Windsor
(fellow Brit like me, very talented), All Money Is Legal (a very talented
tag team that could liven things up there), Mana The Polynesian Warrior
(one of the best workers around right now), and many more. Hey Vinny Mac
... call me.
And that's a wrap, people. Sorry it's taken this long to write my column,
I've had complaints from the people who read my work (all three of them,
right Bobby?). Till next time, keep it Indy and take care.
