The following is written by long time WrestlingClothesline.com supporter and contributor, Peter Staniforth. If you have any comments, questions, or inquiries regarding his statement, please contact him at Peterstaniforth@aol.com. It saddens me to see that the wrestling business is no different overseas than it is hear. Full of scum and promoters who just want to pass the blame. Peter, I'm behind you 100%! - Brett

A column to coincide with my 30th birthday (30th July, for those who feel the need to know!), not the deepest of columns this time, but I plan to go on holiday and take a week away from this crazy game we call professional wrestling.

Since my last column, it seems WWE suits have been taking notice of the indy guys again. This either means a) I have more pull than I realise, or b) Tommy Dreamer's been telling the WWE offices to look to Philadelphia for talent. I'd like to think a little from column A and a little from column B, but I guess column B is more realistic!

So, some serious congratulations follow, to friends currently being used in some shape or way by WWE -

NICK BERK.
Nick is a really good guy, who's helped me out and always looked out for me, and this is the break he deserves. An great all round wrestler, and well worth checking out for those of you unfamiliar with him.

JASON STATIC.
He's one well built cat, this one, and has the talent to go with his look. Sure to do well if they give him a contract.

KEENAN QUINN.
My friend 'KQ' has the most unlikely story, with the free haircut and the referee gig. But if they take him on at WWE as a referee, don't be fooled - this guy can work, too!

MASON RAIGE.
If I was half as built as this guy, I'd be happy. Part of the first Hardy/Edge angle, as a security guard, Mason is a really good person and sure to be a star if given the chance. And my 6 year old son loves him!

More shouts and assorted things follow now, I never said I was organised this time in my column!

Promoters UK and Europe, and even US based; would do well to visit www.ukworkers.net for all the best British and overseas workers available. The site is extremely professionally run by UK wrestler Danny Devine, who is surely a star in the making himself. So, if you're a wrestler who wants to be listed on the website, or a promoter who's looking for talent to book - go there and see what's on offer!

On that same bookings note, the very charismatic and talented Z-Barr is currently looking for more bookings; and interested promoters can contact him at his email address thexbarr@aol.com for bookings.

Another worker who is tearing up the indy scene, is my good friend Mana 'The Polynesian Warrior'. His website is http://manawxw.tripod.com/main.html. Having great matches with everyone these days, how long is it before the WWE or TNA realise his talent and pick him up? Until then, in various independent promotions, he's facing Steve Corino on August 6, Blue Meanie on August 19th, Nikolai Volkoff on August 27, Crowbar (ex WCW) on Sep 10, Sid Vicious on Sep 30, and Greg Valentine on Oct 15. Grab a chance to see him on a more personal level while you still can!

Congratulations to TNA on their television deal, and also Rhyno joining the company. It's good to see Sabu making his return as well, which can only be good news. On that same note, it's really great to see Jerry Lynn back and healthy as well. I can't say I'm too happy with Michael Shane being legally made to change his work name, I know which of he and Mike Shane of The Shane Twins I'd prefer to watch personally - and it's the man who's birth certificate and TNA name now says Mike Bentley.

A shout to my friends at ACW, who are a UK promotion local to me, who have a really fun show, and some wonderful people there - www.acwrestling.co.uk - take the time to check out some of my best friends!

Then there's my main gig, 1PW - you know about us! October 1st, Doncaster Dome, Doncaster, England - with lots of big names from the indy wrestling scene, like Matt Hardy, Abyss, Raven, Sandman, and much much more! Visit www.1p-w.com for all the latest updates and happenings with the hottest wrestling promotion in the United Kingdom right now!!

And finally, I want to throw some love to my friends at CZW. On the 16th of July, they put on a great show to raise money for my fiancee' Chrissie and the breast cancer fundraising walk she is doing in September in London, UK. The pictures from the show are available to view at http://home.comcast.net/~evilwrestling1/mba14.html and I want to sincerely thank all involved for their work.

So that's that. Next column, I'll be a year older, and i'll tell you what it's like to be 30! Feel free to send me an e-card if you have the urge, and thanks as ever for reading.
