Woman Wrestler

Luna Vachon

Daughter of Paul Vachon, and niece of Maurice 'Mad Dog' Vachon, and Vivian Vachon, it was inevitable that Luna Vachon would become involve in pro wrestling.

As a child, Luna was on the road with her uncle and father for many years. At the age of 16, she decided to train with her aunt Vivian in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Later on, she went to South Carolina, where she learned from the Fabulous Moolah.

Luna’s early matches were for Fabulous Moolah's all-women's promotion, but it was in Florida in 1985 that she gained more national attention.

There, Luna teamed with Lock (also known as Winona Little Heart) as The Daughters of Darkness. Luna and Lock combination were soon a part of Kevin Sullivan's “family” which included Purple Haze Mark Lewin, Bob Roop, Kharma (Gene Lewis/Gene Petit) and Fallen Angel (Nancy Sullivan)

After her stint in Florida, Luna went to Japan with her dad as her manager for part of the time. Luna's spent close to three years in Japan.

When she returned to North America, Luna bounced around quite a bit, including a run with POWW/AWA which saw her compete at AWA Super Clash III..

Her first stint with the WWF came in 1992, and peaked in March 1994 at WrestleMania X, where she teamed with Bam Bam Bigelow to beat Doink The Clown and Dink The Clown (Tiger Jackson).

In 1994, Luna found herself in Tri-States Wrestling (the predecessor to ECW)

Not too long after her run in Philly, she gave up wrestling for a while, settling in Florida.

She later returned for a brief time in ECW, running an angle with her husband, Vampire Warrior (David Heath, aka Gangrel) and Tommy Dreamer.

Luna was then called back to the WWF where she worked with Sable (Reno Mero), battled for the women's title, and worked as part of the Oddities. Later, Luna Vachon returned to the WWF one more time, joining forces with her husband, Gangrel.

Today, Luna is still going strong working on indy events across the country and around the world.

Congratulations Luna and thank you for all that you have done for the sport!
