Luscious Lily

In just a matter of days, 8 women will battle in the NECW Ladies Tournament. We have had the pleasure of bringing you interviews with three of the women thus far and now we bring you a fourth... Luscious Lily!

1.) Since our last interview (in 2003) you have accomplished quite a bit and have worked for a lot of independent promotions. What acheivements over the past few years are you most proud of?

LL- Well last weekend I made my return to the AWA in NJ after breaking my ankle to win the AWA Women's Title. At the last WXW Banquet I was awarded WXW Most Hearted 2004 and recieved and award for WXW Tag Team of the Year 2004 as the manager of the Untouchables (Anthony Michaels & Marc Gore). I have also branched out a little and am starting to wrestle more regularly. Oh and I brought your butt out of retirement a few times this year! lol.

2.) What would you change right now, if you could, about your career?

LL- I would go back and redo the night I broke my ankle to ensure it didn't happen. I also would have taken the beginning of my career more seriously then I did.

3) What is it like balancing your "real life" with your "wrestling life?

LL-It's extremely hard. My family gets the short end of the stick a lot of the time. I miss holiday's and family functions. I'm never home on the weekends.

4.) We asked you where you felt you would be in five years in our last interview... where do you think wrestling itself will be in five years?

LL - Hopefully wrestling will be on the rebound. It's in a slump right now. Attendance is down as are bookings.

5.) With the upcoming NECW women's tourney, how are you preparing for the possibility of working three matches in one night?

LL - At the last WXW Women's event I worked 2 matches in a night. That was a first for me and I amazed myself that I could do that. I don't see winning 3 in one night a problem. I mean after all I plan on making short work of those 3 opponents anyway.

6.) How do you feel being invited as one of only eight women in this tournament?

LL - I feel extremely honored. There are a number of talented women on the indy scene so to be one of only eight chosen is very flattering. Especially with the talented women already entered into the tournament.

7.) What's the funniest moment involving you (or even not involving you) that you've seen so far in your wrestling career?

LL - Wow, I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but if I could I'm sure it would involve Alere Little Feather!

8.) What's the best trend in wrestling today? How about the worst?

LL - The best trend is the influx of women coming into wrestling and promoters booking more women's matches. The worst woudl be death. Wrestling has lost too many brothers over the past few months.

9.) What wrestler do you make a special point to see when you're not wrestling? Why?

LL - There are a bunch actually. Christopher Daniels, Jay Lethal, Steve Corino, April Hunter, Lacey & Mercedes Martinez just to name a few. It's because I respect their work and enjoy watching them wrestle. I also learn a lot watching them.

10.) What's one misconception people have about Luscious Lily?

LL- Hmmm. I don't know. If you conceive Luscious Lily as an independent woman who doesn't take any bs, overcomes many obstacles thrown in her path and works hard then you'd have it pretty acurate.
