News and notes from NCW’s May 3rd, 2008 event!!

Attendance was slightly lower than the November 3rd event at The York Vo-Tech. However, still a very good crowd considering the Gun Show in town and numerous other events. Promoters who say the house was bad because “so and so was in town” or “this was going on here” are making excuses. Wrestling fans will come to a good show, no matter if The Pope is in town the same day. The show had slightly over 500 in attendance.

Ruckus was declared the Unified Light Heavyweight Championship when it was determined that he was within the weight limit for the Championship and the match was sanctioned as a Championship Match. Mat Bomboy immediately gave his verbal request for a rematch with The Championship on the line and will receive his rematch in Shillington, PA on June 21st.

Ray Alexander threw out the first pitch for the York Revolution Sunday prior to their game against The Long Island Ducks. Sunday was also “Bark At The Park” Day and there were numerous dogs of all shapes and sizes there enjoying the sun and baseball. NCW, and Ray Alexander especially, wish to thank The York Revolution for everything as Ray felt it was an honor for him to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. NCW also thanks York Revolution on-field announcer “Stu Pendous” for his assistance that day as well.

Ricky Morton was checked by the Commission Doctor after his match with King Kaluha for the NCW Champion. Morton required a few stitches after Kaluha struck Morton with an unidentified object. Ricky Morton demanded to get Kaluha in the ring when Morton appears for New Elite Wrestling on June 22nd. NCW Owner Mr. Walker begrudgingly sanctioned the match, and will be at ringside for the match. New Elite Officials, despite not being the least bit happy about Walker having anything to do with NEW at all, understand how important this match and NCW is to their well being and future, gave in to Walker’s demands.

Speaking of King Kaluha, numerous e-mails were sent to NCW via their website complaining about his unwarranted attack on Ring Card Girl Lily and inquiring about the well being of the beautiful young girl. Many NCW Superstars have voiced their very strong opinions about this, but Walker seemingly is not only ignoring them, but virtually gloating about the incident. The 5’4 and barely 110 lb. Lily, who passed out from having the wind knocked out of her by Kaluha, was taken to a local medical facility in York immediately after the incident and released a few hours later. While at the facility, the Doctors ran numerous tests, including a CAT scan and the Doctors found nothing. Kaluha was fined an undisclosed amount by The PSAC, a fine Mr. Walker paid for him almost happily.

RC, best known as NCW’s #1 Commentator and was Commissioner of NCW under previous ownership, is awaiting a decision from NCW’s legal counsel over his standing as NCW Commissioner. NCW's legal counsel and attorney Joel Katz is reviewing all the documentation and Pennsylvania contract and labor laws to determine if RC has in fact a contracted position with NCW as he believes.

Trent Acid did appear at the event, but Johnny Kashmere did not. Kashmere, as it was told to NCW by Trent, had to “leave his office, cash a check, go to Western Union and wire money to a former WWE Superstar who is scheduled for PWU in the future” I kid you not.

Axl Rotten also missed the event, but for totally different reasons. Axl had a legitimate crisis and NCW was told he would not be able to appear. When Axl cleared his issue up the day before the show, NCW was almost immediately made aware of this. Axl was told that a replacement had been booked, but they would see if they could still put him in the event. Axl was called by IWC and got another booking before NCW was able to contact him back to re-confirm his appearance. The whole situation was very unique and neither side is at fault for what happened. NCW will happily be bringing Axl Rotten back in the very near future.

NCW wishes to thank the ACPW crew for coming in and filming the event and NCW looks forward to working with them more in the future.

Negotiations are already underway for NCW’s next huge mega card and a deal is on the table to expand NCW’s schedule as early as September in what will be NCW’s permanent new home.

Don’t forget to watch “That Pro Wrestling Show” on York Comcast Cable Channel 16 on Monday’s at 6:00 Pm with replays through the week.
