National Wrestling Alliance: Total Non-Stop Action
Pay-Per-View Report
By Anthony Mislan

Date of Show: July 30, 2003

Hola everyone, sorry about the delay on the recap this week, but circumstances beyond my control prevented me from having this in to Brett on time. But anywho, on with the report.

Tonights show kicked off with a video recapping the past weeks action.

Outside the building Scott Hudson stands with a microphone as a white limousine pulls up. Scott now attempts to get a word with NWA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles who exited the limo with Trinity. Sonny Siaki then showed up and said the spotlight should be on him. Siaki also talks about TNA having a camera man follow him around doing a documentary on the "Ace in the Hole"

Jerry Lynn defeated "The Pound for Pound best athlete in the world" Elix Skipper by pinfall not once, but twice. First victory came in less than a minute while the second match lasted about six minutes.

Out next was Sonny Siaki with Trinity. Siaki claimed to steal the show last week and that he was the reason AJ Styles was still champ. This of course brought out AJ Styles who told him that Siaki's role was to hold the bags while he (meaning Styles) holds the gold. That brought out a "KNOW YOUR ROLE" chant from the crowd. The two argued until Styles slapped Siaki. D-Lo Brown came out to tell Styles that he didn't need anyone and then he challenges Styles to a one-on-one rematch to see who the real World Champion was after the finish to their ladder match last week. Styles agreed and says that this match one be for anything else but respect. As they shook hands Siaki clipped Brown from behind and Styles acted like he wanted Siaki to back off. This lasted only a moment before Styles helped Siaki and Trinity beat up on D-Lo. Erik Watts came out to make the save, to a huge pop from the crowd. Watts said that next week Siaki, Trinity, and Legend won't be allowed at ringside and that Vince Russo will be handcuffed to him. One last thing, he announced the match would take place inside of a fifteen foot high steel cage.

Raven and the Gathering cut a promo in which Raven said CM Punk had "flaked out" on the match which led to Alexis offering to take his place. This might lead to a possible Raven vs Punk feud to start in TNA. They are in the midst of a bloody feud in not only MLW but also Ring of Honor.

Sandman over Edward Chastain by pinfall to regain the Hard 10 trophy. Both before and after the match Don Callis cut a promo. In the promo after the match Callis said that Chastain was being let go because of corporate downsizing.

Athena tries to cheer up Shark Boy with the Hulk Hands but it doesn't do any good. Norman Smiley comes by and teaches Shark Boy how to do the Big Wiggle. Norman then offered to be Shark Boy's new tag team partner and Shark Boy gladly accepted.

Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger (with Glenn Gilberti) over Shark Boy and Norman Smiley by pinfall. After the match Diamond, Swinger, and Gilberti were going to give Jeremy Borash a whipping like they gave America's Most Wanted last week but before that could happen AMW made the save to a pop from the crowd.

Pre-taped interview with Vince Russo in which he talked about AJ Styles, the future of S.E.X., his hatred of Jeff Jarrett, and that he has the stroke in TNA because Styles is champion.

Scott Hudson interviews Chris Sabin. Erik Watts breaks in and introduces Sabin to the ref for his match, Frankie Kazarian. Sabin is in shock.

Chris Sabin over Michael Shane by pinfall to retain the NWA-TNA World X Division Title. Match was back and forth with lots of nice spots, especially two dives out of the ring. Crowd was a little slow to get into the match but by the end was very into it. Kazarian called it down the middle until the end when he laid out Sabin with his finisher. the Wave of the Future. Before Kazarian could count three to give Shane the win Ref Rudy Charles stopped the count and took over as ref for the remained of the match.

Mad Mikey promo aired next. It was "A Day in the Life of Mad Mikey". This gimmick might very well be the worst I have ever seen. It might be my personal opinion, but I just can't get passed the whole Crash Holly gimmick. Blah...waste of time.

Next up was highlights of the altercation last week between Rock and Roll Express' Ricky Morton and his former student Kid Kash.

Kid Kash over Ricky Morton by pinfall with help from Abyss. The greatest part of this match was an ancient and tubby looking Ricky Morton hitting a clean suicide dive onto Kid Kash on the outside. During the match both Sarah Lee and Corsica Joe were at ringside. Kash tried to go after Sarah when the match was over but was stopped twice, one by Morton and once by security.

3 Live Crew at a Mexican Restaurant video. Last week at Suntan Superman's Ghetto, this week in K-Dogg's neighborhood. After BG James gets out of the bathroom (You know that Mexican food kills the stomach) he says that next week they are headed to the Trailer Park.

TNA Girls Lollipop and April called out Bitchslap. Nurse Veronica and Cheerleader Valentina came out with Trinity. Trinity made Bitchslap go to the ring without her. Lolli and April took control of Veronica and Valentina and eventually gave Valentina a spanking. Trinity looked on and never offered to help out Bitchslap.

Yet another great Christopher Daniels promo was next. These get better and better every week..

Video showing the feud between Raven and the Gathering against Shane Douglas and the New Church and promoting tonights Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match.

Shane Douglas and the New Church (Slash and Brian Lee) over Raven and the Gathering (Aleixs and Julio) in a Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match. The crowd totally ate this match up and Raven becomes more of a face with each passing week. Once again the mysterious white gloved hand comes out and attacks Raven. This time it came from beneath the ring and a moment or so later Raven was rolled out unconcious.

Scott Hudson interviews D-Lo Brown about the big cage match next week, where Brown used a an apple to show what he would do to Styles next week.

Tenay and West promote next weeks show.

Scott Hudson interviewed Styles next about the match next week in the cage against D-Lo.

Video package showcasing the feud between Jeff Jarrett and Legend.

Jeff Jarrett over Legend by pinfall in a Double Pole Match. On one pole was a baseball bat, on the other a guitar. Siaki tried to interfere in the match but to no avail. Crowd was very into the match.

Christopher Daniels ran out and attacked Jarrett after the match. He finished Jarrett off by leaping off the top rope and driving the baseball bat length wise across the his chest. The crowd went absolutely nuts when "The Fallen Angel" made his surprise appearance. All Tenay and West could say was...he is supposed to return next week.
