The contestants for the 2009 ECWA Super 8 Tournament have
been announced and, as WrestlingClothesline.com does each year, we bring
you "10 Questions With..." interviews with each of the participants.
Our seventh participant... Nick Logan!!
1. What made you decide to get involved in professional wrestling?
My brothers and I have been wrestling since birth. We were such huge fans
of pro wrestling as kids and were always trying to mimic moves we saw
on television. When I was 15 years old I had the opportunity to begin
to train as a professional wrestler and took full advantage of it.
2. Of all the promotions you have worked for, which ones stand out
as your favorites? Why?
WWE was probably the most memorable because it is on such a larger scale
than the independents. However, ECWA and Chaotic Wrestling have been my
favorite independent promotions. I have had great opportunities to grow
as a wrestler in both of these promotions and have be en able to face
many great opponents.
3. You are a participant in this years' ECWA Super 8 Tournament. What
was your reaction when being invited to wrestle in such a prestigious
tournament?
I was honored when I found out. I have witnessed both of my brothers compete
in the tournament in the past and I have always been so impressed with
the competitors. I have respect for all the past competitors and feel
great to be put in the same category as them.
4. Prior to being invited to participate, what were your thoughts
regarding the tournament?
I always held the tournament in such high regards. I believe it is the
biggest tournament out there for independent wrestling.
5. Any thoughts on how you'll prepare physically for three possible
matches in the Super 8?
I have been training harder than ever for this tournament. What sets me
apart from my opponents is my amateur back round. I am used to wrestling
6 or 7 matches in one day at a collegiate wrestling tournament. I have
varied my training with weight lifting, cardio, mat wrestling (amateur
style), in ring wrestling (pro), and submission wrestling as well. I feel
that I am in better shape than ever and I am ready to make some noise
in the tournament.
6. Who do you think will be the toughest competition in this year's
tournament?
I believe Metal Master will be my toughest competition in the tournament.
Ive watched film on him and I am very impressed with his style.
7. What do you enjoy most about being a professional wrestler? Is
there anything you dislike?
I enjoy being able to get in the ring and put all of my skills on display.
Professional Wrestling is one of the greatest forms of athleticism.
8. If you could step in the ring with or against anyone (alive or
dead) who would it be? Why?
I would love to compete against AJ styles. I think he has very impressive
aerial skills and is very entertaining to watch. As for who I would step
in the ring with, I would have to say my brothers. There is no better
feeling for me than to step in the ring and have my brothers by my side.
9. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything about
your career?
I would not. It has been tough for me to balance professional wrestling
with collegiate wrestling as well as being a full time college student.
However, I feel I have done a good job at balancing everything.
10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself making a living off of professional wrestling and traveling
the world.
