Rockin’ Rebel Interview
By P.Staniforth 2004

I recently had chance to sit down and catch a few thoughts with a friend of mine who has literally been there, and done it over his career; and also has the offensive t-shirt – Rockin’ Rebel. Here’s what was said...

PETER) : - First off, let me thank you for your time; as I know you’re always very busy. For those who don’t know, how did you get started in wrestling?

REBEL) : - I always wanted to become a wrestler, and got hooked into the Rock And Roll Express; and the rest is history.

PETER) : - What were your views on the business when you first broke in, and how have they changed over time?

REBEL) : - I learned to be respectful, and to listen. The old school way. Nowadays, the new generation doesn’t care; and that’s why the business is sliding the direction it is.

PETER) : - Who have you most enjoyed working with?

REBEL) : - Favourite people to work with would include Greg Matthews, Danny Rose, Derek Frazier, Chris Hamrick, Tracy Smothers, J.R. Manitoba, Jack Victory, the 3PW crew, etc.

PETER) : - How do you consider the current state of wrestling, and your thoughts on WWE, TNA, and the indy's?

REBEL) : - There’s too much talking. The interviews are way too long, and it kills the wrestling. I feel you’ve got to go back to the old school way. Big angles, that’s what sells; and makes money by drawing the fans in.

PETER) : - Who do you consider the best wrestlers right now?

REBEL) : - There are too many to mention, because they’re different in their own ways; from wrestling to brawling to high flying and technical – it makes it hard to choose overall.

PETER) : - If you could do one specific thing in wrestling, like own a promotion for example; what would you do?

REBEL) : - I did run my own promotion for a while, actually. It's fun, but it's hard work.

PETER) : - What are your plans for the future?

REBEL) : - I just plan to keep working until my body says no more.

PETER) : _ Word association time, if I give you a name then give me your first thoughts..... Vince McMahon?

REBEL) : - Smartest business man.

PETER) : - Ric Flair?

REBEL) : - Best old schooler in the business.

PETER) : - Shawn Michaels?

REBEL) : - One of the best charismatic baby faces.

PETER) : - Bret Hart?

REBEL) : - Best technical worker, in his days as champion.

PETER) : - Backyard Wrestling?

REBEL) : - The sh*ts.

PETER) : - And to wrap up, thanks once again for your time my friend; and is there anything you want to promote?

REBEL) : - Go to www.rockinrebel.com and you won't believe your eyes!
