Corvis Fear Interview Here's a young wrestler who is currently with Jersey All Pro Wrestling, with a great future ahead of him in the business. I personally feel this guy could go all the way, and become a big star. Pull up a seat, and let's find out all about Corvis Fear. Peter Staniforth) - Hello, and thanks for taking the time for this interview. Tell us about your childhood, and early life for you. Corvis Fear) - Well, I was born in Bayonne, New Jersey and did a lot of moving when I was young. My family life was a little hectic to say the least, and wrestling was definitely there for me as a way to escape reality when I was young. Peter) - At what age did you first view wrestling? Corvis) - I discovered wrestling when I was about 4 years old, and I caught it on television on a Saturday morning searching for cartoons and ever since then, I was hooked. Peter) - Who trained you to become a wrestler? Corvis) - My main trainers were Magic, who has been wrestling all over for years and is one of the nicest, most knowledgeable guys I've met; Da Hit Squad, who taught me a lot about psychology and putting a match together; and Skinhead Ivan, who helped me master my basic. There were also a lot of other JAPW talent that helped me develop my style. Peter) - It's always great to hear of the indy circuit camaraderie, the boys helping each other out. Tell us about your first matches. Corvis) - My first match was a tag team match in October 2001 on a JAPW student show. I was teamed with a wrestler named New Wave against the team of Tony Lazaro and Rampage. It was definitely a great learning experience and helped me to decide on actually pursuing this business indefinitely. All my first matches were just great experiences to gain knowledge. Peter) - Have you held any titles so far in your career? And have there been any special moments that stand out for you already? Corvis) - The only title I have held so far was the JAPW Student Title, which really meant a lot to me because it showed me that the higher up's appreciated me and my hard work. And every match is a special moment for me, because there's no feeling like getting to do what you love; and people wanting to see it. Peter) - I know I love writing, and it scares me sometimes that people actually want to read what I have to say! So, I can kind of relate to that! What have been your better and worse matches so far? Corvis) I feel that some of my best matches were the ones that I either teamed with, or wrestled against Tony Lazaro, another wrestler who started training the same day I did. There's just something about our relationship that brings out the best in one another. Also, my feud matches with Justin Cage were extraordinary. I really don't consider any match my worst as such, because every match is a good learning experience, whether good or bad. Peter) - Who are your friends in the business, and favourite opponents? Corvis) - Well, my absolute best friends in this business are Suba of the Shaolin Wrecking Crew, and Tony Lazaro; because we all started training the same day and were the only 3 out of 40 students to make it pro. They are no longer friends to me, they are family. I have so many friends in this business that I have made over the years that it would take up more than a page to list them all. Peter) - What are your thoughts on WWE at the moment? Corvis) - I think that the WWE will always be a part of American culture, because we all grew up with it; but I do feel they are starting to stray a bit too far from the matches themselves, and concentrating on the other things that I feel aren't as important. Peter) - Well put. What are your thoughts on NWATNA and the other indy's ? Corvis) - I feel NWA-TNA is a good form of wrestling entertainment because it gives fans a nationally covered alternative to the WWE. I also feel that RoH (Ring of Honor) is the most dominant indy federation in the USA and hope I can have the opportunity to perform with them. Peter) - RoH are really good guys, both in ring and to deal with on my level. Who are your favourite wrestlers to watch? Corvis) - This is the hardest question in wrestling for me to answer, because any wrestler that can go out and perform a great match and entertain me, at that moment, is my favourite wrestler. I respect anyone in this business that can entertain me. Peter) - How would you give a description of you as a wrestler? Corvis) - My name is Corvis Fear, and my gimmick is based around mindgames and fear itself. I try to go out there and entertain the best I can so the fans feel they got their money's worth. I try to have as unique of a look as possible, and try to go out and wrestle like I'm in the main event; every single match. Peter) - A great attitude, which other 'veterans' could learn from. What plans do you have for the future? Corvis) - To wrestle for as many federations as I can, and get my name out there. I want to be able to wrestle as much as I can, and get as much experience as possible. Exposure is key, and I love this business; and would do this for the rest of my life God-Willing. Peter) - Well, as I always say - if there's anything this writer can do to help out, then just shout my way. Granted, it's a long way to shout to England,; so maybe email might just be better! And finally, is there anything you'd like to promote? Corvis) - My home company, Jersey All Pro Wrestling, which I feel is the most dominant Indy federation in New Jersey; and of course myself - feel free to email me at- RoachMyself@aol.com Peter) - Thanks for your time, it's been a really good one. And all the
best in the future.
