Osirus Interview.

By P. Staniforth 2005.

Another future star of the independent scene for your reading pleasure, ladies and gentleman; this is Osirus.

PETER) : Hi, and thanks for making the time for this interview. Can I start by asking you a little about your childhood?

OSIRUS) : My childhood was pretty average. My parents were divorced when I was two years old, and I spent half the time with my mom; and half the time with my dad. I went to school in a small town in Massachusetts and was a pretty quiet child.

PETER) : When did you first view wrestling?

OSIRUS) : I've been watching wrestling as long as I can remember. My father was a mild wrestling fan, and my uncles were huge wrestling fans. One of my uncles (Doc Ozone) was a wrestling announcer for UCW in New Hampshire (where Scotty Too Hotty got his start actually) and another one of my uncles used to practice different wrestling moves on me.

PETER) : Did this lead to you wanting to be a wrestler, or did it just kind of happen by surprise?

OSIRUS) : Since I was like seven years old, I've said I was going to be a professional wrestler someday. I'm sure no-one believed it then, but here it is fifteen years later and I'm still saying it and making steps every day to make it closer to reality.

PETER) : How did you get your first break in the business?

OSIRUS) : While attending Sacred Heart University I met Johnny Heartbreaker, and he really inspired me to fully follow out my dream.

PETER) : Who trained you to wrestle?

OSIRUS) : I trained at Killer Kowalski's wrestling school in Malden, MA and was trained by "Slyk" Wagner Brown.

PETER) : Slyk is a great guy. What were your first matches like?

OSIRUS) : My first matches were battle royals, and then I worked a few shows. I was the drizzlings. At that point, I really wasn't ready to wrestle on shows, but I had to get my feet wet. I got better with each and every show though, and now I'm half way decent. Not good, but not bad either.

PETER) : A good way to look at things, and one that works for me; as it means you always want to improve. How would you describe yourself as a wrestler to those that don't know you?

OSIRUS) : Hmmm, that's a tough question. I'm not really a power wrestler and I'm not really a high flyer, I'm somewhere in between. I'm versatile, I can wrestle with big men; and I can wrestle with high flying cruisers.

PETER) : What would you consider your favourite match or show that you were involved in?

OSIRUS) : Wrestling against the Honky Tonk Man in Canada was an awesome experience. Not everyone gets the chance to wrestle a legendary name, and I was very fortunate to be able to do that at such a young stage in my career.

PETER) : Who do you consider your friends in the business?

OSIRUS) : Friend is a word that I take very seriously, so I have few "friends" in the business. But people that I'd go to war for would be Zac "The Ref", Quentin Michaels, Gina Marie, and Gino Martino.

PETER) : Hey, it was Zac who hooked me up for this interview! What would you consider your lowest point in wrestling so far?

OSIRUS) : I guess the beginning of my career when I really wasn't that good. There were a lot of haters who talked trash about me (never to my face, just behind my back) saying I shouldn't be wrestling on shows. They were entitled to that opinion, but hopefully at this point I'm proving them all wrong.

PETER) : I usually find the people that behave like that, are insecure of their own talents. What do you like to do in your spare time?

OSIRUS) : In my spare time, I like to work out although it's kind of a job requirement, and not just a hobby. I also like to spend time with my girlfriend, hang with my mom; or hang with my uncles (my Florida uncle or my MA uncles)

PETER) : What five words you feel describe you best?

OSIRUS) : Five words couldn't describe me!

PETER) : What do you feel the future holds for you?

OSIRUS) : I plan on becoming a better wrestler, and moving my way through the ranks of professional wrestling until I reach the top.

PETER) : What are your thoughts on WWE and TNA, and the indy's?

OSIRUS) : WWE in my opinion, is the best there is when it comes to this business. It's what just about everyone aims for, and what I would love to be a part of someday. It's not as popular as it once was, but as serious fans know; wrestling comes and goes in cycles.

As for TNA, I really hope they continue to improve and provide WWE with some competition. Wrestling is at it's best when companies are competing head to head like during the "Monday Night Wars". TNA is another company that I would love to work for. Basically, anything that will allow me to make a living as a professional wrestler.

As for the indy's, there's a lot of work to be done. Unfortunately, there's a trickle down effect and when the big companies aren't doing well; it reflects poorly on the little companies. Especially right now, where as a lot of casual fans have turned off to the current WWE product; they associate all wrestling with that. At least that's my take on it.

PETER) : Who do you like to watch or learn from?

OSIRUS) : Just for entertainment purposes, I like watching X division type stuff. A lot of it doesn't make sense, but the moves and athleticism are incredible. As far as learning from, I go to different sources for different things. When it comes to psychology, I like the old school tapes, Flair, Funk, stuff like that. Or I like watching HHH or Rock's matches. Those two really know how to get the crowd involved and make the crowd feel an entire spectrum of emotions. For promos, Rock is the best in the business and I have tapes full of literally nothing but Rock promos. When it comes to moves, I watch a lot of indy stuff; as I think indy wrestlers are the most innovative.

PETER) : I'd certainly agree with that last statement, most of all! Two wrap things up, is there anything you'd like to promote; or anyone you'd like to thank?

OSIRUS) : There's too many people out there for me to thank, but to sum it up: anyone I've worked with, trained with, or even driven with. You've influenced and helped me get to where I am. I'd also like to thank my mom, for supporting my decisions no matter how unorthodox they may seem. As for promotion, I'd like to promote my website which is www.osirus1.com. And I'd like to promote my weekly newsletter, and for a free subscription; shoot an email to DarkPrince920@yahoo.com with subscribe in the header, and you'll be automatically signed up. Thank you Mr. Staniforth for your time and space.

PETER) : Thank you, the pleasure is mine.
