Snow Interview When writing and doing interviews, I dont think there's anything better than sitting down and having a chat with your friends. Where as I've sat down and done interviews with people, and have become friends with them through that; this is the first time that I've taken it the other way round and actually interviewed a friend. So, that said - I'm really thrilled to present this interview/conversation with Florida's premier superheavyweight wrestler - Snow. PETER) : Well, thanks first of all for taking the time to do this. Lets begin with a bit about growing up,and your childhood. SNOW) : My childhood was pretty much like every other kid of the 1980's. I suppose with the one exception of eating, breathing ;and sleeping wrestling, that is! Not to mention the fact that I started training at the age of 15...which made for some interesting moments as a young teenager! PETER) : I can imagine! The wrestling life is certainly a lively one! How did you actually first begin watching it? SNOW) : When I was 6 years old, I spent the night at a friends house, and was informed at 9am Saturday morning it was time to watch wrestling. I had never seen it before, but from that moment I was hooked! I'd like to find the "friend" today and kick him in the head..especially after driving 4 hours to a match and getting stiffed on pay by some fat, lazy promoter! LOL! PETER) : Mmmm, some friend! I remember the person who first introduced me to wrestling... But anyway! Who trained you to wrestle? Some rather famous names were involved I believe... SNOW) : My initial training was done by BlackJack Mulligan (of WWF fame) but, Billy and Bart Gunn (also of WWF fame) had a large hand in it as well. PETER) : Tell us about your first matches, how did they go? SNOW) : Not much to tell really...they were bad and mercifully short! I was actually brought in under an "undefeated" angle and didn't "go under" for my first 1 and a half years...a easy way to get a big head! Lucky for me I learned after a few quick "attitude adjustments" this is all a work, and we are here to make the show look good! PETER) : Man, I wish other people saw it that way. I could think of a few big names who could do with coming to that realization. What titles have you held and what have been your special moments in wrestling so far? SNOW) : Wow, special moments and titles huh? I've held my fair share over the years..the few that stand out are the ASCW heavyweight title in Tennessee (my first shot at being given the ball to run with as the top face, and then heel). My IPW tv title was also pretty special! As for special moments...not to sound cheesy but every time i step in the ring it's special...still after all these years! PETER) : There's nothing cheesy about enthusiasm, my friend. I believe if we ever stop 'marking out' completely, it's time to walk away. What have been your best and worst matches in your career? SNOW) : I'm gonna take the politically correct route in answering this one! Some people you click with and some you dont! But either way you give 100%. Of course I will say any match with my on-again, off-again tag team partner D.R. is usually a lot of fun! But to pick my favourite opponents I'd have to say the New Heavenly Bodies, Dagon Briggs and my good buddy Sean Steel rank the highest and most enjoyable! PETER) : What are your thoughts on WWE? SNOW) : They need to bring back the fat guys!!!!! Hee Hee! PETER) : Love it!! And your thoughts on NWATNA and the indy's both UK and USA based? SNOW) : I love TNA, but it was better when they called it Nitro!! As for the indy's...they are the future of wrestling! There is so much talent out there that doesnt get main stream exposure! Support your indy's and you may just get the show of your life! PETER) : That's my passion in wrestling, getting the smaller names a bit more attention. I find it very rewarding, and indy wrestlers are often a lot more genuine than the 'stars'.Who are your favourite wrestlers to watch? SNOW) : Well, I'm a Hogan mark from waaaaaaay back, but this new Mr. America guy seems good too! I also enjoyed Mick Foley a lot too....but my all time favourites....The Killer Bees! Masked confusion rules! PETER) : Many is the time me and you have sat around on AOL talking about old gimmicks and wrestlers like a pair of old-school anoraks! How would you describe yourself as a wrestler? SNOW) : I'd like to think I am what big guys aren't supposed to be! I can mat wrestle, i'm not totally slow and I will take to the air if needed! Nothing is more boring that the typical "fat guy"....bring something new to what you do, or dont do it is my motto! PETER) : What do you have planned for the future? SNOW) : I'm hoping 2004 will be the year of the Snowman...it's time we take things international!! PETER) : I'm working on it, mate! If I can get you over here to the UK for a tour, we're going out and lifting a few Steve-Weisers!!!! Finally, is there anything you'd like to promote? SNOW) : Well, besides promoting the local indy's everywhere and my website, http://www.geocities.com/itsda_snowman/index.html ...maybe I could put over a few things my good buddy Peter writes!! He's not bad for a limey, ya know lol!!! PETER) : Thanks my Snow-Bro. It's been a real pleasure sitting down with one of my best friends in the wrestling business. Oh, and since you said I could - cue Foley thumbs up! - www.prowrestlingdaily.com , where you can find my column and interviews!
