The contestants for the 2009 ECWA Super 8 Tournament have been announced and, as WrestlingClothesline.com does each year, we bring you "10 Questions With..." interviews with each of the participants. Our fifth participant... Prince Nana!!
1. What made you decide to get involved in professional
wrestling?
Originally it was the WrestleMania 8 event, Flair Vs. Savage. That match
and everything that led to it changed my life. and the FANS.
2. You have been wrestling, successfully, in the ECWA for many years
now. What has been the main factor in your remaining in that promotion
for such a long time when so many others have come and gone?
I think it has a lot to do with dependability. I've always been able to
count on Jim to have something exciting for me to undertake at ECWA..and
on the other hand he has always been able to rely on me to make it happen
and be somewhat of a leader in the back.
3. You are a participant in this years' ECWA Super 8 Tournament. What
was your reaction when being invited to wrestle in such a prestigious
tournament?
Didn't ever think I would be selected for something like this. The first
year I attended the event, Loki walked away with the show, and everyone
in the event blew me away. I know this years event will revitalize the
seriousness of the tournament, and put ECWA back on the Map...even tho
its always been there...
4. Prior to being invited to participate, what were your thoughts
regarding the tournament?
I loved it. I've seen many people come and go on to become Major Stars
in pro Wrestling thanks to this Event....always wondered how it would
be to be in the event...now here I am for all the fools to see! and im
planning on walking away the winner.
5. Any thoughts on how you'll prepare physically for three possible
matches in the Super 8?
Working out at home, Also will make a few stops where I trained in Brooklyn
just to tighten some stuff up, im always around a ring so that's a good
thing.
6. Who do you think will be the toughest competition in this year's
tournament?
I'm familiar with a few guys in this event and all have worked very hard
to get to this point...So toughest competition is hard to say....But just
know ill be ready.
7. What do you enjoy most about being a professional wrestler? Is
there anything you dislike?
I enjoy seeing the fans, and how happy they are to be around us...I also
enjoy delivering a top notch event weather its at ECWA in DE or if its
in front of millions of viewers with Ring Of Honor on HD net. I love what
I do....What I dislike is the fake friends....But that's anywhere in life....
8. If you could step in the ring with or against anyone (alive or
dead) who would it be? Why?
I would love to do one more match with Cheetah Master! He was fun to work...The
fans loved him....And we got a lot of heat...He is one of the guys I always
wondered why WWE never signed...
9. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything about
your career?
Nothing at all....All the good and bad was a learning thing for me.
10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully doing this dream of mine for a living....Other then that, on
a beach in Ghana being rubbed down by three of my wife's!! the finest
oils and soaps!!!!...Don't forget to go to my Face Book: Prince Nana for
