Action Packed Championship Wrestling The show opens with some guy named The Reverend cutting a promo, thanking everyone for coming, blah, blah, blah. Some kid interrupts him by handing him a note. Reverend said he was being replaced as APCW Commissioner by Alfredo. Reverend had been demoted to television commentary (I don't know what TV show they are doing because they don't have an Internet show...maybe this "TV show" will be aired on Seekonk Public Access). Alfredo comes out and introduces some of the upcoming matches. He also says one of the matches is a Tag Team championship match, because The Big Islanders didn't show up, and had been stripped of the belts. 1. Derek Destiny won a 9-man battle royal. Yes, a 9-man battle royal. Absolutely silly. Freight Train and Destiny were the last two men in the ring. Train tried to eliminate Destiny, but he hung on to the ropes. As Train continued to kick Destiny, Hollywood Johnny Nash interfered, and caused both Train and Destiny to be eliminated at the same time. Alfredo ran out, looked at the "video tape replay," and declared Destiny the winner. Destiny has a Heavyweight championship match later in the show. What's the freakin' point of a 9-man battle royal?!?!?! They had more guys than that in the locker room. Why not put everyone in the match, instead of just 9 guys? 2. Devine Diversity (from the SAW promotion in Vermont) beat The Portuguese Warriors to win the vacant APCW Tag Team championship. This was a ridiculously long match...maybe about 10 minutes too long. 3. Stooge Curly survived a 6-man elimination match over Stooge Larry, Stooge Shemp, Widowmaker Eric Shred, Derek Destiny, and Danny Cama to retain the APCW Television championship. Some kid accompanied one of the Stooges to the ring...and was involved in some of the silly Stooge antics. A match with the Stooges wouldn't be complete without one of them hitting someone with a whip cream pie. That happened towards the end of this ridiculously long match...yeah, another one. Whip cream wound up all over the ring and the floor. It took forever before the first guy was eliminated, then all the other pinfalls happened shortly after. During the match, some guy pushed one of the Stooges out of the ring, and he literally wound up in my lap! Intermission after the 3rd match. An announced 5-minute intermission lasted almost a half hour. 4. The Kreeper (with Taeler) beat Kid Pyro and A.J. Fuego in a three way dance. 5. Freight Train pinned Bionic Dan Bidondi in a match to determine the Number One Contender for the APCW/SAW New England championship. 6. Hollywood Johnny Nash (complete with his "suede" pajama
pants and a Greg Valentine or Ric Flair-esque robe) pinned Derek Destiny
(third match for his The guys I was sitting near made this show enjoyable...with the silly chants they started throughout the show. I wasn't going to go to this show (since my work schedule has me back on 3rd shift for a while), but I was glad I went. I really needed some cheering up today, and the guys sitting near me made that possible. If I remember correctly, the next APCW event was announced for sometime in April. Despite them being advertised, no Big Islanders, no Dave Padula and no Robbie Ellis on the show today. |
