Top Rope Promotions results
Friday night 3/907
Police Athletic League Hall
Fall River, Massachusetts
By Shawn O'Domski
Internet TV Commentators: Alex Payne and Shane Matthews
Referees: Tony S. and Zac
Ring Announcer: Shane Matthews (Ricky Vazquez took over later on)
1. Dan Strykes scored a major upset over "The Pinnacle" Paul
Lombardi.
Lombardi starts off by saying he's the real professional, and he complains
about how he didn't work the last show. He also complains about how Top
Rope
uses anyone off the streets to wrestle. Strykes gets an unexpected pin
on
Lombardi, and Paul throws a hissy fit afterwards.
2. The Alden Brothers (Shane & Eric) and Swinger Sadusky beat Tag
Team Champs
"The Epic" Mike Bennett & Bryce Andrews and Grayson Alexander.
This was the
second win in a row for the Aldens over Bennett and Andrews. Post match
hissy
fit from Bennett. He challenges The Aldens to a two-out-of-three falls
match
for the next month's show...with the belts on the line. Andrews and Alexander
were not happy about Bennett's challenge.
3. Michael Sain destroyed Buck Nasty in less than two minutes. Nasty
showed
very little offense in this one.
4. "Nightmare" Nick Steel pinned Big Daddy Bravo to retain
the Interstate
Championship. Bravo was actually cheered by some when he was introduced.
After
the match, Steel gives up the Interstate Championship, saying he's sick
and
tired of being a Number Two Champion. However he respects the championship,
and goes through a short list of past champs. He demands a Heavyweight
championship match with Jay Jaillet. Steel says he's tired of Jaillet
hiding
being the skirt tails of TRP officials. After Steel leaves, Bravo picks
up the
belt and says he "stole another one." Bravo is now the Interstate
Champion,
and he says "possession is nine-tenths of the law...and I am the
law!"
Surprisingly, many in the crowd went nuts for that! So, I guess we have
a new
Interstate Champion in Big Daddy Bravo!
5. Vain pinned "The Ladies Man" Gregory Edwards. Ghosthunter
Steve Gonsalves
from the Sci-Fi Channel was the special guest referee.
6. Big Rick Fuller destroyed Gorgeous Gino Giovanni. Gino left the ring
with
some pretty nasty welts on his chest, from Rick's vicious chops. Pre-match
drivel from Gino..."Here I am once again...in scum city Fall River,
Massachusetts..." then Fuller's music hits. Fuller interrupts Gino's
speech
and starts to kick his ass. Gino spits his gum in Fuller's face, which
Fuller
wasn't happy about. The result was a good ass-kicking and several big
time
chops from Fuller.
Intermission for Polaroids with Jerry Lynn and Ghosthunter Steve Gonsalves.
No
50/50 prize raffle this time.
7. "Exotic" Kristian Frost pinned Jason Blade. This will be
the exclusive
place to find my comments on the show, since another site deems me as
a
complainer and "most annoying" for giving my opinions on matches...since
they
are usually contrary to popular opinion. This match was by far Match of
the
Night. These two guys worked an excellent match. Great non-stop action
from
two talented New England workers. I have never been disappointed in any
of
Blade's matches, or any of Frost's matches. Hopefully, Top Rope will bring
these two guys back sometime. The local indy wrestling geeks/Know-It-Alls
would have appreciated this match. Sucks for them that they weren't there.
8. Johnny Angel & Lexus beat B.K. Jordan & Luscious Latasha in
an inter-gender
tag team match. This was an enjoyable match...amusing antics from B.K.
Jordan
as usual...in response to the "You Suck" chants from the crowd.
B.K.'s hissy
fits with him saying "I do NOT suck" get the crowd going. Funny
stuff.
9. Jay Jaillet pinned Jerry Lynn to retain the Heavyweight Championship.
Post
match beat down on Lynn, but Rick Fuller comes out to save the day. Fuller
kicks Jaillet's ass, then Lynn drops a big time piledriver on
Jaillet...leaving him laying flat in the ring with the title belt. Fuller
then
demanded a title shot in a lumberjack match on the April event in Fall
River.

Hammer" Valentine, Simon Diamond, Brother Runt, and "The Promise"
