World Wrestling Alliance results/commentary
National Guard Armory
Quincy, Massachusetts
Friday night 2/2/07
By Shawn O'Domski

Ring Announcer: Dan Starr
Referees: Joe and Zac

1. Tommy Shields over Billy B and Kermon in a Three Way Dance. I think I have the wrestlers names correct. Explanation on that later on.

2. Bobby Fish (I think) & Joey something-or-other beat Judas Young & Shockwave. I already knew who Young and Shockwave were, but I don't know the
other two guys. Again, explanation on that later on.

3. Jimmy Jact Cash & Danny Jaxx over The Untouchables.

4. Shortsleeve Sampson & Rosie over Purty Kurty Adonis & Paul E. Normus. What began as a singles match between Adonis and Sampson, later turned into a tag team match. Rosie rushed out to Sampson's rescue, after he was being double-teamed by Adonis and Normus. The referee had been poked in the eye, and never saw the double team. In response to all four men in the ring, the referee then decided to start a tag team match.

Intermission for Polaroids with Goldust, autographs with some of the other wrestlers, chance to purchase food and beverages, souvenirs, etc, etc.

5. Grayson Alexander, "Nightmare" Nick Steel, Vain, & "H20" Ryan Waters over Michael Sain, "The Pinnacle" Paul Lombardi, "The Epic" Mike Bennett, &
"Revolution" Chris Venom in the 8-man Fall River Fallout tag team match. A "Fall River Fallout" in Quincy?!?!?! I didn't understand that at all.

6. Slyck Wagner Brown & "Punisher" Don Vega over "Widowmaker" Eric Shred & some guy that I don't know.

7. Moodog Maximus destroyed three poor bastards in a 3-on-1 handicap match. I think one of the victims was named Justin Sane or something like that.

8. Josh Daniels over Nick Berk in a ladder match to win the WWA Heavyweight Championship. Berk had the match won, when he climed the ladder to get the belt. The referee had been knocked out prior to Berk climbing the ladder. After Berk got the belt, he tried to wake the referee up. Daniels got a hold of the belt, and DDT'd Berk on the belt. Daniels then grabbed the belt and climbed the ladder. The referee conveniently woke up in time to declare Daniels the winner. Daniels' victory angered some in the crowd, and they chanted "this is bullshit" after the match.

9. The Valedictorians (Billy Bax & Rob Eckos) over Shane & Eric Alden. I'm not saying this was a bad match, but I have seen much, much better from all four of these guys. By the time this match came on, alot of people were getting bored.

10. Goldust (Dustin Rhodes) over Big Scott Grimez. Grimez attacked Goldust even before he entered the arena. Both brawled through the ringside area for a short time, leaving Goldust with a cut over his eye. I really didn't pay much attention to this match, but it made sense to have the two big guys with each other. Goldust scored the pin with a rollup, and a handful of trunks.

I'm not the only one who felt this way, but damn, I could not understand a fucking word the ring announcer was saying. He had the mic up so close to his mouth all night, he may as well have been swallowing it. His voice sounded very muffled and distorted, and it was very difficult to make out what he was saying. That explains why in some of the matches I listed, I didn't know who the guys were or got their names wrong. Other people sitting near me were also confused as to who some of the wrestlers were. I can't apologize for the mistakes, because if the announcer didn't have the mic jammed down his throat, I would have been able to get everyone's name right.

The doors didn't open until around 7:30 (even though the show was supposed to start at 7:30). I forget what time the show got underway, but it wasn't at 7:30. Give or take a few minutes, I believe the show started close to 8:00. Of course, we had to deal with a couple ignorant assholes who felt like they are allowed to cut in front of 50 people to get up to the front of the line (they showed up 5 minutes before the doors opened)...but they were quickly told to go the back of the line when the doors opened. However, there were courteous people waiting in line that made sure they knew who was in front of them, and
so on, when the doors opened and tickets were being sold.

WWA officials were giving a very hard time to some kid who was wearing a homemade NECW shirt. The kid was in the front row, and was standing up alot, blocking people behind him. The "officials" who yelled at him didn't seem concerned about the kid blocking other people's view...instead, they were worried about the kid's makeshift NECW t-shirt. The kid and his friends were also using foul language quite a bit during the show, and "officials" got on their case about that, but later on in the show (after they had been cursing most of the night). Mind you, I could care less if someone curses or not at a wrestling event. One "official" had to make himself feel like a big man, by getting in some 12 year old kids face, almost literally biting the kid's face off.

I don't have an attendance figure, because I didn't count to see how many people were there. I was told by a friend they didn't have as many chairs set up as NECW usually sets up (when NECW runs there), but a few more chairs were set up before the show started.

The card featured alot of guys that weren't even advertised. WWA only advertised two matches, and one guy who didn't even show up (Scotty Charisma).
Why have guys on the show like The Valedictorians, Purty Kurty, Slyck, Sain, Lombardi, and so on, if you aren't going to advertise them? I don't get that...and never will. I guess advertising/promotion skills aren't their best trait. I also heard the locker room featured some of the local no-talent, backyard hacks, who always show up to fly-by-night promotions, begging to get booked. Luckily, the two idiots I'm thinking of weren't on the show at all. If they had been, I would have asked for my money back. The show was bad enough as it was already, without the backyard hacks.
