Greetings fellow wrestling fans and welcome to the debut of "Spotlight
7" The only column designed to showcase Indy wrestlers as A- list
Hollywood Actors!
My guest at this time is the superstar formerly known as Slyck Wagner
Brown. Now, he's simply known as "The Underground King" Slyck!
1) First and Foremost, welcome to "Spotlight Seven"! My first
question to you is why have you decided to shorten your name from Slyck
Wagner Brown to "SLYCK"?
Thanks, at first I thought my name was a bit long. So I decided to drop
Wagner Brown, but after some thought...I decided to bring it back.
2) You have a strikingly interesting theory applicable to both your
in-ring and personal life would you care to explicate?: "Believe
half of what you see and none of what you hear"
People say a lot of things, so don't judge anyone on what you hear. If
you must, judge them on the time you spent together and nothing else.
3) I know that you have wrestled outside the U.S. in places such as Japan,
England, Ireland, and Puerto Rico. How would you describe the fans' perception
towards wrestling overseas?
They're passionate about wrestling like our fans are, but you will never
hear them chant 'You f***ed up!' like some fans do here in the States.
4) I've always said that wrestling is the one sport (art) where the
philosophy: "It doesn't matter if you win or lose but how you play
the game" (see Anthony's Asylum Vol.) is valid. Do you agree with
me? Express your point-of-view.
Absof'nlutely Anthony. In our world you can lose, but win, because the
fans can appreciate and respect your performance more than the guy who
wins the match.
5) Your finisher, the "Appreciation Bomb" is perhaps one
of the most devastating finishers in the business. How did the move come
about?
Ever since I was a kid I've been fascinated with Powerbombs, so one day
at the Kowalski dojo I remembered watching a Japanese wrestling tape where
a guy used the same crucifix maneuver and dropped the guy on his back.
So I thought that same move would be way more effective and devastating
if you dropped the guy on his face. I did it and the wrestlers and people
watching class popped big time, so I knew the move would go over well
with the fans.
6) I am very observant towards wrestling merchandise . Particularly,
T-shirts as they possess a unique form of promoting any theme or idea
in a stylish manner. Your Slyck Unit T-shirts are by far one of the top
3 best looking T-shirts currently in the Independent wrestling scene.
How important do you feel it is for the fans to be subjected to eye-catching
merchandise?
Yeah, no doubt. So if you're interested in getting some good merchandise
T-shirts too, check out Nocturnal Graphics. The fans work hard for their
money, so when they spend it on our merchandise that says we're doing
something right.

7) Which inspirational wrestler alive or dead would you have liked
to tag with? ( personally I feel that you and Too-Cold Scorpio would have
made a great tag team)
Mr. Perfect, I loved his character and respect the fact that he could
deliver in the ring and on the mic. I'm also a big fan of Shawn Michaels
and Jushin Thunder Liger and would love to team with them someday.
Thank you Slyck for joining me at "Spotlight 7." Fans, if you
