Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy Available above. Review By Brett Schwan. Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy was produced, written, cast, and directed by Kim Sky. If she doesn't deserve credit for taking on all those roles, she certainly deserves credit for releasing a very enjoyable movie. The movie follows the life and loves of Sandy Gold Piedra, played by Nicole Brier. Sandy is the daughter of legendary pro wrestlers Rocco (Don The Predator Frye) and Diamond Piedra (April Hunter) who always thought that Sandy would marry a pro wrestler and have wrestler children. The film does a great job of introducing us to the main characters at the age of 12 and picking up on their lives ten years later. Nicole has to choose between her cheating ex boyfriend, Monster (Ken Yasuda), and her long time admirer, Marty Shalom Weinstein (Aaron Fiore). Once she makes her decision, everyone ends up in the ring in some way, shape, or form. The wrestling scenes focus on two matches, Monster v Roxanne (Laurer) and Rockin' Bull (D. Vine) v Marty. The best part of the matches is the commentary and comments by Gino Caruso and Red Hot Russ. Their constant use of wrestling terms and insider comments and bickering are very funny, even more so to the die hard wrestling fan. Scattered throughout the movie are other wrestlers including Josh Daniels, Slyck Wagner Brown, and Jay Santana. I'm not quite sure what the point of the more than flamboyant gay best friend (Selassie Amana) who gets man raped (off camera, thank God) by Joanie Laurer (while her boyfriend Vic D. Vine encourages it) is, other than to show some not so great acting. However, the rest of the performances and story make up for it. Nicole Brier shines in her portrayal of Sandy Gold Piedra and Don Fry and April Hunter are excellent in their small roles as her parents. Ken Yasuda also does a good job in the role as Monster. In addition, all the younger actors, playing the lead roles at age 12 are outstanding. Some of the funniest lines and moments of the film are delivered by them and they deserve a lot of credit. If you are a fan of romantic comedies, this movie is for you. If you are a wrestling fan, the movie is worth it just to try and find what wrestlers you recognize in each of the scenes. What Meatballs II did for summer camp movies, Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy will do for wrestling comedies!
------- "Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy" is honored to join The Florida Professional Wrestling Association and Wrestling Autism in their event to raise money and bring awareness for the National Autism Association. On April 14th 2007, The Florida Professional Wrestling Association and
Wrestling Autism will team up to put on a wrestling event to raise money
and awareness for the National Autism Association. Recent studies have
shown that 1 out of every 150 children is diagnosed with autism, and it
effects 1.5 million children in the U.S. today. Autism is classified by
the World Health Organization and American Psychological Association as
a developmental disability that results from a disorder of the human central
nervous system. It is diagnosed by impairments to social interaction,
communication, interests, imagination and activities. We are asking for
donations of wrestling memorabilia, to raffle off at this event to help
us raise money that will go towards research, to find a cause and cure
for this growing epidemic. If you would like to donate, please send them
