DVD Review: EWF 1st Annual XTreme 8 Tournament

Main menu options include both "Play All" as well as "Choose Matches". In additon, there are Bonus Interviews with all 8 participants in the tournament. (Colt Cabana, as always, is simply amazing on the mic).
The show is a basic one camera shot with no commentary.
First Round Matches:
Apollo Star beat Menace by submission. A good opener which saw Menace hit a Rikishi Driver for a two count then Star battle back to hit a nice swinging neckbreaker followed by a submission hold that caused Menace to tap out.
Big Cheese beat Dean "the Dream" Jablonski. Jablonski outpowered Cheese for most of the match. The DVD footage suddenly seemed to hit some bad editing and, with no explanation, Dean was now down on the mat, in the ring. Cheese pulled Dean to the floor at ringside and put the boots to him. Dean made his way back in the ring and hit a Samoan Drop followed by a Belly to Belly and an Oklahoma Stampede. Dean then stood over his fallen opponent and bent down to grab his legs. Cheese rolled up Jablonski for the three count.
Colt Cabana beat "Sheik" Shawn Daivari in a very good match. What can I say about these two? Colt consistently puts on outstanding matches and Daivari was signed by the WWE. Nuff said.
Matt Stryker beat Anarchy in another good match.
Second Round Matches
Apollo Star beat Matt Stryker by submission using a similar hold to the one that won him the first match.
Colt Cabana beat Big Cheese. Cheese attacked before the bell but Colt
battled back and was able to score the pinfall with an Oklahoma Roll.
Finals:
"Poison" Apollo Star beat "Classic" Colt Cabana to
become the first ever Xtreme-8 Champion in an excellent match that went
over 20 minutes. The finish came when Starr applyed several spinning toe
holds followed by a figure four (after working on Colt's leg the entire
match), which caused Colt's shoulders to hit the mat for a three count.
After the match, five of the eight competitors came in the ring to raise Star's arm and lift him and the trophy onto their shoulders.
A post tournament interview with Star, in the locker room, concluded the DVD.
Overall a very enjoyable tournament. The Bonus Interviews were very entertaining
and I personally enjoy having no commentary to distract me from the actual
