Ten Questions With . . .

C.W. Anderson

C.W. Anderson was one half of the New Dangerous Alliance, in ECW. Along with his partner Beautiful Bill Wiles and manager Lou E. Dangerously, they were one of the top teams in ECW. Mr. Anderson was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to answer 10 Questions for us...Don't forget to check out C.W. Anderson's webpage!!!

You were trained at the WCW Power Plant. How did you get started there and how long did you train with them?
Actually I was trained " in ring" so to speak before I went to the power plant. I worked indies in the Carolinas for about 5 yrs and kinda learned as I went. Then I was training a couple of guys who later one of them became WCW's Lodi. He told me about the tryout and i came down and tried out. It was the toughest 3 days of my life. I just wanted to be fine tuned and that made me such a better wrestler. I have Sergeant Buddy Lee Parker and Pez Whatley to thank for that. I was there for about a 1 1/2 yrs.

After training at the Power Plant, did WCW offer you anything as far as a contract or tv time?
Nothing in writing was ever placed in front of me and no tv time was ever offered.

How did Paul Heyman and ECW learn about you and what was your first meeting with them like?
ECW didn't know anything about me. They were in Georgia one weekend and a friend of mine "Toad" had a tryout. I went w/ him just to meet everyone and after his tryout Nova asked me to get in the ring just to see what Ihad. Paul Heyman happened to sit down to watch he tryouts and liked what he saw in me. He met w/ me afterwards and put me on the show that night and I've been there ever since. Meeting everyone was great cause everyone was so cool and treated nice. It was also at the same time nerve racking being there w/ the likes of Tazz, the Dudleys, and the veterans like Jack Victory, Tommy Rich, and Tracy Smothers cause those guys command respect.

Upon entering ECW, you were given the position of the Enforcer of the Dangerous Alliance. How did you (or do you) feel about recreating or reprising a role that for years was the trademark of Arn Anderson?
Well I was there for about 6 months before I was given the position of "The Enforcer". You know there will never be another Arn Anderson and i have the upmost respect for him. I'm glad Paul has given a chance to do this cause to me it like I'm reliving a part of history by being in the Dangerous Alliance and me being from N.C. growing up watching all of this when it was hot makes it all the better. I'm not trying to fill Arn's shoes cause I brought my own.

Were you a fan of the Andersons growing up?
I was a huge fan cause of like I said growing up in the hot bed of the NWA and I love how the Andersons just went in and destroyed people. They weren't flashy they just wrestled.

Other than ECW and the Power Plant, what other promotions have you worked for?
Nothing major just indies here in the Carolinas. But the one I regularly worked (SCW) is where Lodi, The Hardy Boyz, Joey Abbs, Shane Helms and Shannon Moore (3 count), The Dupps, the Maestro, Lita, and Steve Corino all worked on a regular basis. So just imagine the shows we use to have.

When was your first pro match? Who was it against and for what promotion?
It was I think Dec.12,1994, it was against some local guy and it was for SCW in Smithfield, N.C

How does it feel to be fairly new to the business yet be a character in a video game?
It feels real weird. I always wanted to be in a game so I'd always make myself in other ones but to see my face, voice, and moves on a game its just hard to explain the feeling.

What is your opinion of Lou E Dangerously?
Lou's a great manager. When he was Sign Guy he never really got a chance to showcase his true talents. Now that he has the chance every night he has taken the ball and running w/ it. He has great mic skills for someone who just started talking on the mic a few months ago but you couldn't tell it. We have great chemistry together and that's real hard to find between a wrestler and a manager plus were also best friends so we can go to each other w/ ideas w/ no egos involved. Plus we have the same goals in mind so its like we're on the same page. He's just a great guy.

Where do you see yourself in a 5 years?
Hopefully on top of ECW!!!
