Ten Questions With . . .

Donnie B.

How long have you been in wrestling?

I have been in wrestling now for about 6 years. I have been working ringside as a manager for that long and I have been working as a booker for various promotions for about 2 years.

How did you get involved in wrestling?

I got into wrestling as a fluke. Iron Mike Sharpe used to have a school in Brick NJ and I went with my brother (NOVA) and friend and we used to just watch. I was always a fan and have always loved the sport but Mike Sharpe needed a ref for his weekly shows and he asked me. He told me I could train for free if I helped him and I agreed but I told him I wanted to be a manager when it was time and he said OK. The rest is history.

When was your first pro match? Who did you manage?

My first pro match was for Dino Sanna's World Wide Wrestling Allliance in the MontgomeryVille farmers market. I managed a guy named Mr. Motion. It was against Super Nova of all people. We lost.

Who is your favorite wrestler to manage? Why?

My favorite person to manage is hands down Rik Ratchet. Nobody works the people like him. Some say he isn't that good athletically and I agree but he works the crowd like no one else.

Who are your favorite managers and wrestlers to watch?

My favorite manager in the past was Paul E. because he made you believe he really was a manager not only at ringside but in real life as well. Now I like watching Francine and The Master, Vandenburg was good too. As far as wrestling goes I like watching Misfits, Nova, Meanie, Al Snow, Dreamer, Raven, Corino, and some other indy guys.

If you could manage anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

If I could manage anyone today alive or dead I would say Jeff Jarret. I have always like him in the ring. If not him then I think working with Raven in some way would be great too.

What promotions have you worked for?

I have worked for just about everyone. World Wide Wrestling Alliance, Garden State Wrestling Alliance, National Wrestling Alliance, New Jack City, ECWA, TCW, MEWF, Soul City, JAP, World Wide Wresling Council, Liberty All Star Wrestling, American Wresling Council, All Star Wrestlng Alliance. Thats about it, I think.

Do you prefer managing or booking?

I really perfer booking because it allows me to really give the people their moneys worth. I will always love managing but I love booking as well. I only wrestle when it makes sense for a story line, other than that I don't like wrestling myself.

Who trained you?

I was trained in every aspect of the sport by Iron Mike Sharpe. I come from the same camp as Nova, Ace, Devon, Lupus, Ratchet, Domino, Kehner, a lot of talent came out of there.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself in the WCW or WWF as a manager and hopefully a member of the booking team until then I will stay on indies doing what I love and making money at it. Chow!
