With that in mind, enjoy.... ----- JCW returned to the Elks Lodge in Paramus, NJ on Saturday, May 24th at 7:30 pm for Deal With the Devil. The afternoon started off with a lunch Hooters where our waitress, with the voice of Harvey Firestein informed Frank they no longer serve root beer as it has been replaced with orange. Several beers, 20 wings and some burgers, chicken strips and burgers later, Ricky O and Showtime Shawn Sheridan arrived. After handing out flyers for the show, they headed off to prepare. We then headed off to the friggin Satin Dolls because GOD FORBID Brambilla die without ever being there. We went in to Satin Dolls, a bikini bar, ordered some drinks and TWO tour buses show up. I'm sorry but there is something horribly wrong with 75 year old femal Soprano fans standing in a bikini bar looking amazed. We head toward the show where I learn that making a right turn, FROM THE RIGHT LANE, is considered ILLEGAL PASSING in NJ. Whatever... onto the show. The show started at 7:45, keeping JCW's track record of never starting on time, in tact. Your tv commentators, Lord Clarence MacDougal (who has a 10 Questions With interview posted elsewhere on this site) and (I think his first name is ) Mike Berkowitz. MacDougal takes a few minutes to welcome us and harass those people at ringside who can not come up with an original comeback to any of his comments. He then introduces his friend, the Sure Thing John Shane and his protege Livewyre. John and Livewyre are going to remain at ringside and do commentary, as only he can do, for the Jay Lethal v Johnny Ova match. The opening contest, for the JCW Lightweight Title, Johnny Ova v Jay Lethal. Great opening match. After trading the offense back and forth, Lethal hit a japanese armdrag into a bridge for a two count. Ova soon went to the outside only to be followed by a Lethal suicide dive.Back in the ring, Johnny Ova attempts a tornado DDT but Lethal throws him across the ring and follows up with a clothesline. Lethal climbs to the top and hits a diving headbutt onto Ova. At this point, The Sure Thing went into the crowd where he confronted Jay Lethal's mom. Livewyre came to ringside and distracted Livewyre. Ova from behind with a schoolboy for the three count. Jay Lethal then chased Livewyre and Shane to the locker room. After the match, Ova gets on the mic to say he is not happy about the way he won the match and that he would defend the title against anyone who wants, just like his idol, Don Montoya. Out comes Devin Sturgis and Dirty Money. They make fun of Ova for idolizing Montoya. Enter Don Montoya. Montoya makes the challenge, one on one, belt for belt. The music plays, enter DRS with John Shane. JCW Commissioner Fred the Elephant Boy gets into the ring and mumbles. Nick then explains how there will be a "fatal four way" where all the titles are on the line. If Montoay is pinned, whoever pinned him become champ. Same if Dirty Money is pinned. Same if either of DRS are pinned. So it's DRS v Money and Montoya in a tag match? A Fatal Four Way? The fans don't know. The guys in the ring who just cut the promos didn't seem to know. Next up, Jason Static (who looks like Sean Stasiak on steroids) with Ace Darling v Josh Daniels. Stiff chops by Daniels as well as some chops by Static. Daniels goes for a clothesline, Static ducks and Daniels falls to the floor at ringside. Ace rams Daniels' back into the ring apron twice before rolling him back into the ring. Josh then does a suplex which he carries through into a german suplex. The ref gets knocked down. While he's down, Ace climbs to the top and hit Daniels with a flying DDT. Ace rolls Static onto Daniels. The ref recovers and makes the 3 count. Ace puts the boots to Josh. Good work by Ace and Daniels. Static needs a little work. Rob Eckos w/ Mike Winner v Livewyre w/ John The Sure Thing Shane. Eckos, who is great on the mic, has a manager who doesn't speak. OK. Eckos works on Livewyre's leg. As Livewyre goes for his finisher, his leg gives out on him. Eckos clipped him then hit a superkick for a two count. Livewyre hits a spear. The ref makes the count but Winner pulls him out. John Shane punches winnner and begins putting the boots to him. Shane continues to stomp on Winner as the ref tries to pull him off. Back in the ring, Livewyre, once again attempts his finisher. Livewyre gets Eckos up in the air, Lethal runs in and dragon suplexes Livewyre. Eckos makes the cover. The ref slides back into the ring and makes the three count. The JCW Tag Team Champions, the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels w/ John The Sure Thing Shane defended their titles against Los Boricuas. Shane is handcuffed to Lethal, at ringside, for the match. Boricuas attack DRS as they enter the ring. Boricuas dominat most of the match. Nice tornado DDT by Warpath on EC Negro. As Warpath goes for the pin, Evil Bandido runs out and pulls the ref out (didn't we just see this with Winnner in the last match?). EC Negro grabs the tag title and hits Warpath. KC Blade holds up Tony but as Negro goes to hit him with the belt, he ducks and Negro hit Blade. Tony then grabs the tag belt, the referee gets back in the ring and disqualifies Los Boricuas since he saw Tony with the belt. Holy Team Angle v Tajiri and Eddy! Livewyre attacks Nick at ringside. Lethal is attacked next. Somehow Shane gets unhandcuffed. Shane grabs Mrs. Lethal and drags her by the hair into the ring. DRS, Livewyre and Shane are in the ring with Lethal and his mom. Mom fought as hard as she could to defend her son. Los Boricuas make the save and chase Shane and his henchmen to the back. Next match, Striker v John Walters. Great match. Back and forth action with the crowd solidly behind Striker. Striker hits the move (that I will now attempt to describe) where he gets behind Walters, grabs him, then falls back so Walters comes down back first onto Striker's knees. OUCH!! Walters hit the same move on Striker later in the match (Striker later called the move "Death to Smoochy". Striker with the overdrive for the win. Dave Greco and Dixie, with the lovely Noel took on Dan Barry and Max Devlin. "One of these things is not like the other, one of these things is not the same". Greco hit a beautiful spinebuster on Dan Barry. Dixie hit with an abdominal claw. Greco followed up with the claw and the partners lifted Barry, in the claw holds, and slammed him to the mat. Dave Greco then hit a giant swing into a Dixie dropkick. Barry fights back, hitting a double downward spiral. Barry hits two consecutive DDT's followed by a last rites. He goes for the pin, Greco tries to break it up but drops an elbow on Dixie. Barry to the top rope and hits a corkscrew bodypress onto Greco. Dixie gets the tag and goes for a kryptonite krunch but drops Barry's head onto his knee. Double fist drop from the middle ropes onto Barry for the win. Great match. Luckilly, Barry worked most of the match for his team. The team of Greco and Dixie were awesome. Props to Noel for giving me a great view during the match. Next match, the Hired Assassin Dan Maff (Mafia) v Ace Darling w/ The Queen of the Catfights, Noel. The two men trade puches with Maff's taking more of a toll on Ace than Ace's punches on Maff. Ace rolls out to the floor, Maff chops him then gives him a wedgie, forcing Ace to seek solace in the lap of Brams. Mafia then tries to suffocate Ace with someone's sign. They get back in the ring where Mafia has Ace sitting in te corner. He goes for his running roll into Ace but Ace moves. Maff attempts the burning hammer but Ace gets out of it and hits a superkick. Ace climbs to the top rope. Josh Daniels runs out and takes Ace's feet out from under him. Ace gets crotched on the top turnbuckle. Ace lands in the ring, gets up, and Mafia rolls him up from behind for the pin. Great match with a not so great finish. JUST MY OPINION. Shawn Sheridan and Shawndito w/ Amber (with One Night In Bangkok as their entracne music) and The Way then faced Damian Dragon and Foxxy. Shawn kept telling Damian to stop running away. As soon as Dragon would try and tie up, Shawn would run. Shawndito got in the ring while Sheridan explains to the fans that Shawndito with his blue eyes and blonde hair is obviously Aryan. Shawndito attempted to tag several times but Shawn refused. Damian put Shawndito into a Boston Crab while Foxxy put the Camel Clutch on him. Damian followed with a dropkick to his face. Foxxy is now in the ring with Shawndito. She whips him into the ropes, he reverses and Amber trips Foxxy. Shawn then enters the match, whipping Foxxy into the turnbuckles twice. The entire time, Shawn is eating a hotdog. Foxxy attempted a low blow but Shawn blocked and gave her a neckbreaker. Then another neckbreaker. Sheridan then requested a pretzel and some water and Brams, who has NEVER run so fast in his life, obliged. Shawn climbs to the top rope, with the Way. He throws the Way to Foxxy and goes for a spinkick. Foxxy ducks and follows up with a ball shot. Shawncito distracts the ref so he doesn't see Foxxy tag Damian. Foxxy is on the mat, Shawndido climbs to the top but won't splash her. He tags in Sheridan. Sheridan hits a Spicoli Driver but onto his knee. The tag is again made but Shawndito won't jump onto Foxxy. Shawn pushes Shawndito off the top rope, he misses Foxxy. Foxxy makes the tag to Damian. Shawn gets in the ring. Damian with a sliced bread #2 on Shawndito. Shawn nails Damian with the straightjacket. Foxxy with another ballshot. She climbs to the second rope for a tornado DDT. Shawn blocks and throws her, face first, into the top turnbuckle. Shawn grabs Damian's mist and accidentally mists the ref. Shawndito gets the timekeeper's bell. He goes to hit Damian. Damian and Shawn both duck. Dragon grabs the bell and hits Sheridan. Foxxy to the second rope, she boots Shawndito then hits a tornado DDT onto Sheridan onto the bell. Damian grabs the ref who makes the three count. Very good match. Foxxy, who worked a good portion of the match did a great job holding her own. Sheridan has got to be one of the most hilarious wrestlers I have ever seen AND he can actually work. I still feel Damian is one of the most underrated talents out there as well. Your main event for the evening. The ring announcer states: "The following contest is a free for all four way title match. If any guy in this match pins another guy, they win that title." Your referee Brian Beeker enters the ring with a marker board which states "Beeker is Single" and has his phone number. The Dirty Rotten Scoundrels w/ John Shane v Dirty Money w/ Devin Sturgis and Don Montoya. John Shane skipped around the ring as if he was off to see the wizard. Montoya gets on the mic to encourage the crowd to chant DRS Sucks. He says, "On the count of 3, I want everyone to tell them what they are.... DRS _______" Uh, you never counted to three! As the match progressed, one of the DRS tagged Don Montoya. The ref then said Montoya could face Money cause it's a 4 way tag. What? Seems everyone is still confused. Montoya and Money then decide to tag both DRS. Everyone starts to brawl. Into the crowd, out the back door, back to the ring. Back in the ring, Montoya goes for the pin but Money breaks it. Money goes for the cover, Montoya breaks it. HELLO!! Why are you causing yourselves NOT to win the tag titles? Montoya and Money begin to fight, out to the floor. Negro comes off the 2nd rope with a fist to Blade for a 2 count. Blade and Negro begin to argue until the finally wise up and Blade rolls up Negro from behind to retain the titles for his team. Another great outing by JCW. Ova and Lethal were great. Striker and Walters outstanding. Daniels, as good a ever. The mised tag was excellent as was the first tag title match. The new team of Greco and Dixie have awesome potential. Dan Maff v Ace was great as Ace held his own in there agains Maff who has come into his own as a single's wrestler. With the only negative being the confusion over exactly what the main event was and the fairly lame ending to the Maff v Ace match, another great show. What the hell more could you want for $10? |
