Seven Deadly Questions

Hello again, faithful PC potatoes... I am still Gerry Strauss, and if I may be so kind as to holla at you for a second, it is time for a new edition of "Seven Deadly Questions", my forum to ask some of wrestling's most sparkling personalities hard hitting questions from a safe distance. This time out, I managed to get a hold of a girl who basically ADMITS that she skyrocketed to her fame through her romantic relationship with Randy "Macho Man" Savage, forgoing the much more honorable path many females in this business take of relying on their own cleavage to procure their spots. That's right, the following is, in fact, an interview with the former "Gorgeous George", now known as George Frankenstein. George was very frank in this interview, but whether you call her George OR Frank, she is still all woman, so check out what she has to say about life in WCW, stripping, and how Macho Mr. Poffo REALLY is... oh, and don't forget to check out my whole collection of interviews by clicking on "archives" at the bottom of the screen... oh, and drop me a line, and tell me what you thought of this one at gerrystrauss@aol.com...ok, have fun...

1) How did you come to meet and fall in love with Randy Savage? Was it Savage who got you into wrestling, or was it wrestling that led you to the Macho Man?

I met Randy Savage at the "Dollhouse" in Tampa, FL. I was working there for about a week, then we exchanged phone numbers. I didnt call him for about a month, then a wrestling show came to tampa at the ice palace and a friend of mine I was living with told me wrestling was coming. She wanted to take her little brother and she knew that i had met Randy. We didnt have money for tickets. She told me, i should call him and ask if he could us tickets.

I was embarrassed to do it, but her little brother really wanted to go. I called but was no answer so I left a message for him about the
tickets and he called me right back and told me he was happy to hear from me and tickets would be at the will call box.

We went to the show and had a great time. I never got to talk to him that night. We went out on a date later that week and had a great time. We went to sushi. After that we became really good friends. Weeks later, we became boyfriend and girlfriend.

It was Savage that got me into wrestling, I had always watched it as a kid but not as I got older, thats why it weirded me out when I was seeing him, because never in a million years would i have guessed that i would be with him. Randy Savage and Randy Poffo were two different people when we were together. I never thought that i was with Randy Savage, you dont think about that at all.

2) According to the wrestler known as the "Stro" (formerly " The Maestro" in WCW), Savage bamboozled him into selling the right to use the name "Gorgeous George", which was the moniker used by his famous relative. What went down from your perspective? What were and are your feelings towards this transaction, and being allowed to use this legendary name? What is the current status of the ownership of the name?

The name Gorgeous George...i really dont know what happened between Randy and The Maestro. He owned the named before i was with him. All i know is that, when I was brought into WCW, i needed a name. We tried to trademark "Zana" but it was a Record Company in Japan. We had no idea what we were going to call me. So, we threw around a few other names they didnt work either. It was getting down to the wire on what they were going to call me before i came out on WCW. One day Randy and I were at the pool. He asked me what i thought of the name George for a girl. I told him I loved it then he told me about him owning the name Gorgeous George. His brother, Lanny once used it. I thought it was really cool and thats the day i became "Gorgeous George", just a girl version. After seeing tapes of the Real Gorgeous George, i thought he was really cool and it was an honor to be named after him. The current status of the name is owned by Randy and he dosent allow me to use it.

3) Tell us about your WCW career. How instrumental was Randy in getting you into the company, and how much did he control did he exert on your professional fate at that time? How did people treat you, men AND women, considering the relatively easy path that brought you in?

I really loved working for WCW. It was the coolest experience ever especially for someone like me. I've had a terrible back story without Randy Savage. I would never have been on TV. He really showed me another side of life. He definately changed my life for the better, he taught me to go for dreams and not to be scared of change and there is a whole world out there to conquer instead of my little town. Everyone i knew was into the wrong things and that if you really put your mind to it you can do anything you want, dont let people bring you down and break your dreams.

I was really intimidated when i first arrived in WCW. I felt like a little kid there, especially when you see people you watched on TV as a child. You kinda feel weirded out because they are really there...they are relly real. Most of the people were really nice but no one really talked to me because they were scared of Randy. One of the nicest people there was Bam Bam Bigelow. He was always so nice, I will never forget him. I am sure a lot of them talked behind my back because I did get there because of Randy but no one ever brought it to my attention.

4) Rumors of illegal steroid usage in wrestling have always been around, and with good reason, as many sources seem to indicate that it is very prevelant in today's wrestling environment, and many talents DO seem to gain muscle mass in record time, despite the workout-prohibitive road schedule that they keep. Based purely on non-educated speculation, one might point to many former WCW talents as examples of guys who seemed to bulk up at an unnatural pace, including Randy Savage. Were you privy to any steroid use in your time with WCW, by Savage or anyone else?

I was NEVER involved in steriod use, nor, was Randy. I think a lot of people thought that when he came back. He might have been (in the past) but when we were together, he was very dedictated to eating right and working out. He is like a madman in the gym. 2 hours a day and doesn't miss. You can try to get him to have a piece of cake but you better believe it better be a special holiday or something.

5) What is your assessment of him as a person and as a significant other?

As a person, Randy Savage is a fighter. He doesn't give up like I said, he's very displined and a hard worker. He's even soft hearted. Randy and I are no longer together.

6) As a stripper, how do you feel about aspects of sex and nudity in wrestling? Would you consider going topless or engaging in equivalent R-rated activities, as women like Stacy "The Kat" Carter and TNA's Lollipop have done before you? Why or why not? Do you think that such activities, in the ring OR the strip club, will serve to tarnish your reputation and pigeonhole you as a total sex object?

As a Stripper, I feel that wrestling has too much sex involved. Children watch. I have a 10yr old Son & I don't let him watch WWE. i think the storylines sometimes are too much. I mean, what ever happened to good old fashioned wrestling? I think they have raised the bar so far..where else is there to go? I would NEVER go topless on wrestling because my son is home with a bowl of popcorn & his friends are too. What i did on WCW was as far
as i will go. I am a team player. Though I am a stripper, i do it in an adults- only environment. Maybe such activies have tarnished my reputation but this who I am. I am not trying to be something i am not. I guess if because of that I am not able to be in the wrestling world, that's what has to happen. But, i sure hope not. (Note from Gerry: George IS scheduled to make an appearance for 3PW in Philadelphia on August 16th).

7) Many agree that the truly successful people in the wrestling business share one thing: an honest love for the business. Do you agree? Do you think that you truly love wrestling, or is it just a gig that allows you to logically capitilize on your brief national TV exposure?

I love wrestling now, like i said..I really had a great run. I thank god for the time i was given to experience such a cool thing. It has changed my life in a great way. I thank all my fans for always supporting me. They have and continue to treat me well. You guys are truly the best! Thanks!

(Note from George) George is now takin' Independent and Autograph Session bookings. Please Contact us at George_Frankenstein@hotmail.com. This is not her fan mail address. that will be posted on the website. which will also be re-opened in a short time. Stay tuned.
