Ten Questions With . . .

Tracy Brooks

She has made a name for herself working for such promotions as Border City Wrestling, Maximum Pro Wrestling, WXW, Beer Wrestling, Insane Wrestling Federation, Fighting Spirit Pro Wrestling, All World Wrestling League, AWF, and All Canadian Pro Wrestling. On September 27th she will be in CT working for Afa's WXW in his first ever Women's Super 8. I would like to thank Tracy Brooks for not only taking time out of her busy schedule but for going to the internet cafe to do this interview while she has no computer. Be sure to check out her site at http://notjustanotherprettyface.cjb.net/

1. What made you decide to become a professional wrestler?
I have known since grade six when I use to watch Saturday's Main Event that I would become a wrestler. I knew if I trained hard that I could do what the men were doing in the squared circle.

2. How did you come across Ron Hutchisons' Pro-Wrestling gym in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and what made you decide to train there instead of elsewhere?
I won a contest for the 2000 Toronto Sunshine Girl Calender Contest and for publicity for the calender I was a Toronto Sunshine Girl and my bio was to become the next WWE superstar. A few people saw this and gave me Ron's website and I did my research from there. I sent out several packages to different schools but Ron's seemed to have the best reputation. I went in for an interview and there was Trish Stratus, I knew then that's where I was going to train.

3. At any point during your training did you think you had made the wrong choice or did you want to quit and take a different path?
Not at all, I received great basic training at Rons and now I am continuing my training at Squared Circle Training in Toronto, Canada under the supervision of head trainer Rob Fuego. Check out squaredcircletraining.com

4. When was your first pro match, whom was it against and how long after starting your training did it take place?
My first pro-wrestling match was against Ms. B. Haven, it was about 8 months after I started to train.

5. What promotions do you (and have you) wrestled for?
Border City Wrestling, Maximum Pro Wrestling, WXW, Beer Wrestling, Insane Wrestling Federation, Fighting Spirit Pro Wrestling, All World Wrestling League, AWF, All Canadian Pro Wrestling, Northern Championship Wrestling, and Bluewater Championship Wrestling

6. What do you think of the current state of women's wrestling and what do you think of the current state of independent wresting in general?
I think the current state of womens wrestling is good but could be alot better, I think people enjoy watching women wrestle. There is alot of talent in the indy's and alot of great federations putting on great shows.

7. Are you treated (by promoters or other wrestlers) any differently because you are a woman in a predominantly male sport? If so, how are you treated on those occasions?
I have never been treated bad, if treated different at all it has been in a positive way.

8. Who are some of the people who have been an influence on you, your decision to become a pro wrestler, and your wrestling style?
I love to watch Molly work and I was a big fan of Ricky 'the Dragon' Steamboat but my trainer Rob Fuego (El Fuego) is one of my top influences. He has great technical skills combined with his high flying moves, he's beautiful to watch in the ring.

9. What has been your most memorable moment in wrestling (either one you were directly involved in or just a moment you witnessed or saw and still haven't forgotten it)?
It was my debut at Border City Wrestling, I had just left AWF to get some experience elsewhere. I was teamed with El Tornado, Tyson Dux against El Fuego, Ruffy Silvertein, and Felina. It was just a great match with great workers, great federation, and amazing fans.

10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
As every wrester, in the WWE. But whatever I do I will just continue to do my best and entertain the fans
